So far I love this accessory. I hate using a regular food processor and needing to take it apart and empty the bowl. With this you place any bowl under it and the food drops below. I can make a large batch of salsa with a lot less mess and time. I love the dicing attachment. My only worry is, will it hold up? The silver housing is plastic and the lid doesn't easily side into place and seems like it may break over time. Hopefully it won't because this saves me time and clean up.
So far so good. So far I have only used the dicing blade. It was amazing. I diced carrots, celery, onions, green pepper and zucchini. All were perfect dice. I also thin sliced cucumbers and onions for a salad. I was able to get a very thin, uniform slice. It's easy to set up and take apart. Cleaning was not a problem. The feed tube isn't big enough for slicing tomatoes. I will add to this review when I use more of the features.
A food processor attachment for my stand mixer sounded like a great idea. My Cuisinart food processor is a monster that I only pull out for big jobs. My stand mixer is on the counter and always handy. Plus, I loved the idea of the dicer. But, this attachment is very finicky. The blades don't seem to have a great deal of slicing power. The grater gets clogged very easily with just about anything you process. The dicer does work well for most items, but cleaning it is a real chore. Get out the toothpicks 'cause you'll need several to clean the crevices of the dicer. I use the attachment, but I think I don't use it as often as would if it were a more pleasant experience. Mixing dough with the dough hook in the stand mixer is a pleasure. The citrus juicer is super useful. The meat grinder and pasta roller are "go to" items for me. This food processor attachment, ehhh.
I chose because of 6 different thicknesses in cutting blades. I can pickles in the summer and this will be so much more accurate and faster, the shredding will be fun when cooking with grandkids. I have had my kitchenaid since 1969 and a few years ago purchased the 6 qt.I have several attachments and enjoy using them.
This item says it comes with the storage case and the Dicing blade" whereas on the kitchen aid site it shows you must buy the storage case along with the dicing blade as a separate attachment. I need to know for sure what is sold in ur product please asap? Or-- does the kitchen aid stand alone food processor sell a disc for that unit which just dices?
Best Answer:The blades can but not the unit itself. It has a motor that connects to the blender n just like all their other attachments the power units cannot. Ck out kitchen aid .com site on display video for this piece. Very very helpful!
