Love it. Hope it holds up.
So far I love this accessory. I hate using a regular food processor and needing to take it apart and empty the bowl. With this you place any bowl under it and the food drops below. I can make a large batch of salsa with a lot less mess and time. I love the dicing attachment. My only worry is, will it hold up? The silver housing is plastic and the lid doesn't easily side into place and seems like it may break over time. Hopefully it won't because this saves me time and clean up.

Love the dicing blade
So far so good. So far I have only used the dicing blade. It was amazing. I diced carrots, celery, onions, green pepper and zucchini. All were perfect dice.
I also thin sliced cucumbers and onions for a salad. I was able to get a very thin, uniform slice.
It's easy to set up and take apart. Cleaning was not a problem.
The feed tube isn't big enough for slicing tomatoes.
I will add to this review when I use more of the features.

Not doing what I thought it would
So far I've only used it twice. It seems to work ok with hard food like carrots and potatoes. I tried to slice a cucumber and it just squished it. Then I tried slicing softer vegetables like onions and I got the same squished result. It seems to gather food between the slicer and the top. I'm always having to take off the top and gather up the food and either re-do or throw away. I'm considering I may not be doing it right…so I'll try again. But I'm going to call Sur La Table and see if I can bring in with some vegetables and have someone show me what I'm doing wrong. I don't see it slicing soft fruits like strawberries. I think it would just turn them into mush. The part about it attaching to my KitchenAid is great and easy. The concept is great.

This item says it comes with the storage case and the Dicing blade" whereas on the kitchen aid site it shows you must buy the storage case along with the dicing blade as a separate attachment. I need to know for sure what is sold in ur product please asap? Or-- does the kitchen aid stand alone food processor sell a disc for that unit which just dices?
annette on Nov 1, 2014
Best Answer: This comes with the dicing blade. Kitchenaid offers two models. This silver grey unit comes with the dicing attachment. The white unit does not.

How does this processor make dough if food drops out the bottom?
A shopper on Oct 23, 2014
Best Answer: It doesn't handle dough. This is not a full food processor attachment. To make dough you'd use the standard bowl and hook attachment

Can it go in the dishwasher?
A shopper on Dec 4, 2014
Best Answer: The blades can but not the unit itself. It has a motor that connects to the blender n just like all their other attachments the power units cannot. Ck out kitchen aid .com site on display video for this piece. Very very helpful!

Does the food processor attachment fit all models of the mixers? I have a 600 series and would love to have a food processor as a part of it.
Kathryn M on Jul 12, 2015
Best Answer: The description of this product does say it fits any model. I personally was disappointed with it. I attempted to slice vegetables and it constantly jammed. I hesitate to use it again in the essence of time. I wish I hadn't made the purchase. In my opinion the counter top food processor works the best.

can it chop nuts?
A shopper on Oct 26, 2015
Best Answer: I would use a traditional food processor to chop nuts. This attachment moves the items through it like a chute with the blade just making one contact with each slice. Nuts need continual contact with the blade in an enclosed bowl.

No matter what blade or speed I put the mixer on, when attempting to chop raw sweet potatoes, the machine jams. How do I successfully cut sweet potatoes?
shawna l on Jan 8, 2016
Best Answer: I am sorry I can't help you with this question but I can tell you that this attachment doesn't work properly. The feed tube is way too small to slice anything. I have returned mine.

Can this be used to make almond butter?
Hedel T on Dec 4, 2015
Best Answer: I've never tried to make nut butter in it, but I can't see why it wouldn't work as nut butters can be made in the usual food processors. I'm not much help, sorry!
