love the bowl-lift mechanism and the kneading hook
I traded my head-tilt kitchenaid for this bowl-lift kitchenaid. I love the more powerful motor, which accommodates bread doughs that my old one could not. The kneading hook in this model also works better - it's shaped like a little curly worm instead of a C shape, and it kneads the bread dough, whereas the C hook just makes the dough ride up without kneading.

I think it's worth it to get this model over any of the less powerful head tilt ones. For the price increase, you gain a huge increase in functionality, and it doesn't take up that much more kitchen space

Great product!
I love this mixer. It is so easy to use, and easy to clean. It mixes everything just the way I want it to. The accessories are great.
It is on the heavy side, but what can you expect from a heavyduty mixer like this

Still love mine after nearly 10 years
Purchased my Nickel Pearl edition (can't find it on the site any longer, so picked the stainless one to review). No issues at all with the finish or the hardware. I did find aftermarket spades that have bowl scraper "wings" on the sides, think I paid around $20 for the plastic version and $30 for the metal one. Still going strong and expect it to keep going for at least another 10. Very solid and worth the money... although, that 6500 with the bigger bowl *is tempting* ;-)

Was rated higher than the Pro 610, which had some plastic parts that were stripped. I have the 325 watt, but want a more powerful one and the 7qt 1.5 HP seems too much.

I have this machine and it makes a horrible noise. This is the second one that I have had. It starts off extremely slow and the head does not tilt back to accommodate the changing of beaters/attachments, which make it difficult to work with.

OK why does it make such a horrible noise and why does the head not tilt back?
A shopper on Nov 14, 2015
Best Answer: I have this model and it is louder than my 4.5qt tilt back model, but the motor is almost twice as powerful, so it's going to be a little more noisy, but it's not horrible. With the bowl lift feature, have the bowl in the lower position, attach your beater and then raise the bowl to start mixing. The bowl should be seated properly or that might cause it to make a noise and make sure that you have "clicked in" the rounded piece at the back of the bowl to the corresponding hole on the spring latch. Starting off mixing slowly is a good thing, or your ingredients will fly out everywhere, then you can increase your speed accordingly. Once you get used to it, this mixer is a real asset in the kitchen.

Kitchen Aid mixer

Is it possible to get a serial# before purchase of the Pro 600 KitchenAid mixer? I understand the product is improved and would want to see if this product offered is the improved one according to serial #. Thank you
A shopper on Nov 24, 2011
Best Answer: Unfortunately, it would not be possuble to give you a serial number for this machine before you purchase it. Because each machine has its own serial number, it would be difficult to ensure that you receive the machine with the serial number that we provded once you order
