Works OK, better products out there.
I was intrigued when I saw this product - how handy to slice all you salad fixings and have a ready-to-eat salad prepared in one bowl. However, there are several serious downsides that keep me from using this as much as I was hoping. 1) The lid doesn't "snap on" to the bowl, meaning to try and move the contraption around you need two hands to carefully hold the top and bottom together. Also can be an issue when trying to quickly slice vegetables as two vigorous a slice can dislodge the lid. Furstrating for storage as well. 2) The mandoline "stabilizer" leaves a lot of the vegetable unable to be cut. A few have already mentioned their frustration with lack of directions - maybe this is my problem too? But I've fiddled with it a lot, and unless I'm willing to risk a finger, I end up getting out my chef's knife after all to slice the last of the veggies. Ugh. 3) Not dishwasher safe. I already have enough dishes to wash.

All and all, I would not recommend. I wish I had saved my money to put toward a simple but well constructed mandoline.

Instructions or a better video are necessary
This is a wonderful product and on sale is even better however, as many users have stated, assembly is a bit challenging. The hardest is using the mandolin. Once you line up the "+" and "-" signs on the blades with the sharp-side up it's a breeze to use. Perhaps that is why it's on sale as people returned it not being able to use it. The video was not of any help.

Don't Bother.
I returned this without even using it because I couldn't figure out a way to assemble it that didn't seem dangerous. Sure, I could have attempted to slice a pepper using a slicer that doesn't fit all the way in its slot on top of a lid that doesn't snap onto the bowl underneath, but I like my fingers intact. For what it's worth, there was a scuff mark on the lid that suggested this product had been purchased and returned before. Take the hint from everyone - including its sale price - and do not waste your time.

All In One Salad Station
Love the convenience and ease with which you can chop cucumbers, pepper, onions. I was able to make Israeli salad in 1/2 the time it normally takes. There are no directions in the box so it took a little time to figure out how to assemble and disassemble it, but I love the salad station.

Is there a direction sheet or video available? I bought one and can't figure out how to use it properly!
Carlene C on Oct 2, 2014
Best Answer: There is no instructions included. The 1/2" and 1" blades snap into the lid when you raise the arm. Raise the lid arm to snap it out then snap in the mandolin attachment. With the mandolin attachment, slide in the grater, slicer, or julienne blades into the attachment then snap that into the lid and place over the bowl. Use the hand guard when using the mandolin. Reattach the lid handle when you want to use the blade attachment for pushing down vegetables like tomatoes and onions for salsa etc. Hope this helps.

I don't see the container shown at the beginning of the video that fits under the mandoline when you use it without the bowl. Is this part of the set or is it sold separately?
Betsy C on Jan 4, 2015
Best Answer: That's the Sur La Table® 10-Piece Chop and Slice Set, SKU #1748326.

Is the bowl glass or clear plastic?
A shopper on Feb 5, 2015
Best Answer: Plastic. However, the cutting devices are very sharp and it works very well. And, all cutters store inside the bowl. Love it!!

how do you insert blades into the mandolin?
A shopper on Apr 15, 2015
Best Answer: Agree that this definitely needs some sort of instruction sheet. Patricia P has it right. Line up the "+" and "-" signs and the blades fit. Just be careful as the sharp part of the blades are face up. The photo on the cover shows the mandolin attachments blade up.
