No instructions and no help from SLT phone agents
When I ordered the salad station, I assumed that instructions would be included. Imagine my surprise when there weren't any. I called the Sur-La-Table help line, and the agent had no idea how to put it together, even after watching a video. When I look at customer feedback, I see that plenty of customers were clueless, just like I was, about how to assemble their salad stations. Unfortunately, this has a complicated assembly; it's by no means intuitive. It took my spouse and I an hour to figure out how the pieces actually fit together. I did look that the questions and answers from other owners, and they weren't that helpful. Clearly Sur La Table needs to get their act together.

All In One Salad Station
Love the convenience and ease with which you can chop cucumbers, pepper, onions. I was able to make Israeli salad in 1/2 the time it normally takes. There are no directions in the box so it took a little time to figure out how to assemble and disassemble it, but I love the salad station.

All in one salad station
Very disappointed. No directions in the box. Does not really work for the lettuce. Not sharp enough to slice tomatoes. Works for Cabbage, Carrots, and Cheese. Bowl was disappointing, I felt at this price it should be able to go in the dishwasher...NO it can't. After the first wash the bowl is warped and the top no longer will fit correctly. The $5 Walmart Slicer is superior to this product. Save your money and don't order this slicer.

Instructions or a better video are necessary
This is a wonderful product and on sale is even better however, as many users have stated, assembly is a bit challenging. The hardest is using the mandolin. Once you line up the "+" and "-" signs on the blades with the sharp-side up it's a breeze to use. Perhaps that is why it's on sale as people returned it not being able to use it. The video was not of any help.

Works OK, better products out there.
I was intrigued when I saw this product - how handy to slice all you salad fixings and have a ready-to-eat salad prepared in one bowl. However, there are several serious downsides that keep me from using this as much as I was hoping. 1) The lid doesn't "snap on" to the bowl, meaning to try and move the contraption around you need two hands to carefully hold the top and bottom together. Also can be an issue when trying to quickly slice vegetables as two vigorous a slice can dislodge the lid. Furstrating for storage as well. 2) The mandoline "stabilizer" leaves a lot of the vegetable unable to be cut. A few have already mentioned their frustration with lack of directions - maybe this is my problem too? But I've fiddled with it a lot, and unless I'm willing to risk a finger, I end up getting out my chef's knife after all to slice the last of the veggies. Ugh. 3) Not dishwasher safe. I already have enough dishes to wash.

All and all, I would not recommend. I wish I had saved my money to put toward a simple but well constructed mandoline.
