Must-have kitchen gadget
I bought one for myself several years ago, and have been giving them as gifts ever since. Every recipient has told me how much they enjoy using it, even though they didn't think they needed it initially. Once you use it, you'll wonder how you ever got along without it before

The best egg timer!
I read about this in Paul Dean's magazine and thought what the heck, I'll try it. Well, it really works great, perfect eggs, perfectly simple. It is really a great little gadget

From soft to hard boiled ... You're in control
This is the best egg timer ever. After a couple of uses, you know exactly when your eggs are done perfectly. I make soft boiled and medium boiled eggs just the way my family likes them. One suggestion is to set a timer anyway, so you don't forget to check your eggs.

Who makes this "egg perfect" timer? Other reviews say it makes the water smell. What is it made of?
diane w on Mar 24, 2015
Best Answer: I don't have the package information about the manufacturer. The plastic smell does not persist after the first time in boiling water. I have bought new ones when they finally crack after much use. I always boil them without the eggs to get rid of the "new plastic" smell. I like them so much, I put up with the inconvenience and/or the possibility that plastic residue may be present without the odor. I reason that the egg shell would pick up any plastic that may be sloughed off in the water.

Does this work in a steamer? I like to steam my eggs so they are upright and the yolks land a bit more in the center than off to the side.
Thank you,
H. M. H on Mar 31, 2015
Best Answer: No, I don't think it would work in a steamer. It's meant to be used in a pot of boiling water.

How many are in a package?

The picture shows two and the description is written as though there is more than one, but it does not specifically state a quantity
A shopper on Jan 9, 2014
Best Answer: These are sold individually.
