This thing isnt that complicated. It works exactly as advertised. You put the Kale stalk through the smallest hole it can fit, then pull it through. Voila! You now have Kale off the stock. The smaller holes are the same size as on the Chef'n Zip Strip (which I also own, but will probably give away now that I have this) and are for herbs.

Finally
It is amazing that it took so long for something so simple to be invented. Does exactly what it is advertised to do and does it well.

Chef’n Looseleaf Kale and Herb Stripper
So far I've only used this for herbs, with mixed results. The smaller the stem, the more likely it is to break before you're done stripping the leaves. I like it though, maybe I just have to get used to it :)

Why didn't I think of this?
A brilliant, simple tool that makes prepping leafy greens a snap. It cuts down enormously on the time it takes to strip the spine from kale. I love kale, but sometimes it's such a chore to tear away all the leaves. This makes it fun + fast.

We love kale, but it can be frustrating to deal with the stems. There are also other vegetables that have difficult stems to remove. This should help a lot.

This cute little tool has made cooking so much easier. You can stem a bunch of cilantro or any other herb in no time. Kale is a breeze. I just ordered 6 more to give to my friends for birthday gifts. I will use a plastic gift bag with herbs in it and tie on this great tool.

In the photo the kale is inserted end first, but some leaves are more easily removed in the opposite direction (tip first). Is this an issue? Is everyone having success with this product? Hope this question makes sense.
A shopper on Jan 3, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I found it doesn't really matter, but when you use the thick part of the stalk first it's much easier to pull it thur to get that "zipper" effect in removing the leaves. This was definitely the case with rosemary and thyme as well, thick part thur first to pull more effectively.
would this work for cilantro?
A shopper on Mar 31, 2015
BEST ANSWER: In my experience it's more effective when you have a tough stalk. Zips through kale, thyme but cilantro too fragile.
how does this differ from the chef'n looseleaf kale and herb stripper? Are the holes different?
Linda M on Dec 6, 2015
Chef’n Looseleaf™ Kale and Herb Stripper
Chef’n Looseleaf™ Kale and Herb Stripper
Chef’n ZipStrip™ Herb Zipper
Chef’n ZipStrip™ Herb Zipper
BEST ANSWER: You probably only need one. I have both and only use the flat one. The cup is kinda small.
Is it made in China?
Manuela B on Nov 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: When I purchased my items I specifically asked if their items were made in china she stated that all their items were made in China. The Good Grips Spiralizer is definitely made in China but the pot holders were made in India..any way you look at it child labor is child labor and abusive no matter where they are made except in the United States.
will this work on coriander?
stanley r on Sep 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have used this on rosemary, cilantro, parsley, and kale. I just ordered 2 as gifts for a friend who has a home and a lake house. This is one of my favorite tools!!
Does it work for cilantro?
Momma on Aug 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: yes, you can use it with any type of herbs that have a somewhat sturdy stem
Does this workmon collard greens?
A shopper on Jan 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: That's a great question. I have never tried it on collard greens. The largest hole is just over 1/2", so it might work. Sorry I can't be of more help.
