Great kitchen utensil
I had a mandolin that I used for years and was pleased with it, but when I got a Sur La Table gift card I thought I'd try a new, updated mandolin. YEAH -- this one is great and so versitile, and reasonably priced. I LOVE it !

"Nicely designed, poorly made"
This has nice design features, but some parts are made of poor quality brittle plastic. I have had mine for only 18 months and it is now unusable because the hinges on the input side table have broken.
I assure you, I am very easy on appliances and tools, so it isn't from rough or abusive use
