People are impressed by this coffee maker
I bought this coffeemaker for my office t work and people are always commenting on it. It is fun to put your cup under and press the lever to fill it. The unit is well made, no carafe but a plastic water reservoir to fill. it is a little high for the water bubbler, but I was able to fit it by sliding out the drain. The coffee filter holder and the coffee reservoir come out easily for cleaning. The coffee is good and hot enough. the unit is a bit high and the top opens to put the coffee in. I can see it being a bit tight under a cabinet. The "fuel" guage is interesting to tell you how much coffee there is. It is programmable, has removable water filter, hs 1-4 cup setting and easy to set clock.

My friend loves it.
Brought this as a present for a friend in law school who wanted to have hot coffee available when she wanted it while studying at home. With this pot, she can program it to have the coffee ready when she wants it and then be able to refill her cup later and the coffee still be hot.

Love it!
This coffee maker is great! It is very well made (shipped and packaged very well, too) and works just fine. I love the interior coffee reservoir - great idea and it really keeps the coffee hot for a long time. It's fun to put your mug under the dispenser, press the bar, and fill up your cup! I would highly recommend this coffee maker.

Great for Office
This product would be great for an office break room. As a household appliance, it would only work in a large household with multiple coffee drinkers. Lack of a carafe also makes it a stationary item where cups must be ferried to it. Not recommended for home use...

We have the older model and love it but it died after 7 years

I like that it has no carafe and that it stores coffee so I can have a cup with no fuss.
Jean E on Jan 28, 2016
My daughter has a version of this by another brand and she loves it. I am sick of paying for coffee pods and the refillable pods are messy. I have a lot of Cuisinart appliances and they have all worked well. I bought my other daughter the Cuisinart brew station for coffee and tea and we love that machine also. I have a Cuisinart pod coffee maker now and it works well. So I hope this lives up to it's reviews.

does it take regular coffee grounds in the basket filter for all 12 cups at one time?

won't they get old sitting in there re-brewing over them each time you want a new cup of coffee? also, do you hold the button the whole time you brew the cup or is it a setting for the cup size
A shopper on Sep 10, 2013
Best Answer: This machine brews all of the coffee at once and simply holds the brewed coffee in a coffee reservoir until it is dispensed. You do have to hold down the lever the whole time you are dispensing the coffee into your cup.

The dispenser is not pre-programed so you can get as much or as little coffee as you would like each time.

how long does it take to brew 12 cups of coffe?

and then how long does it take to dispense each cup? is the coffee supposed to stay fresh longer than a regular coffee maker?
A shopper on Sep 11, 2013
Best Answer: This machine brews a 12 cup pot of coffee in about 7 minutes. Each cup takes about 7 seconds to dispense. The coffee should stay fresh and hot up to 4 hours, as the coffee reservoir is double-walled and insulated and has a burner at the bottom

The description says that the "Machine self-cleans at the push of a button." What does that mean? What part of the machine cleans itself?
A shopper on Jan 8, 2015
Best Answer: It means the unit tells you when the base unit needs decalcification (calcium build up, depending on the hardness of your water.) You put water and white vinegar in the unit, press the clean button and turn it on. This cleans the unit.

Does it keep the remaining coffee warm in the reservoir? We will likely use the 1-4 cup coffee option most, but like to drink it over a couple hours

And is this unit available in stores. My closest store is in the city center location in Houston.
A shopper on May 30, 2013
Best Answer: Yes, this coffee maker keeps the remaining coffee warm. In fact, in a video I watched on YouTube, someone actually said that they, too, like to drink their coffee throughout the day and that this machine is perfect for that.At this time, it is not available in stores

Do you have to make a full pot or can you just make 2 cups?
m s on Feb 8, 2016
Best Answer: No, you don't have to make a full pot. The water level marker starts at 3 Cups. I'm assuming, with a little trial and error, you could figure out the amount for two cups. As a side note, my husband and I love this coffee maker.

How long will the coffee stay hot in the reservoir and what temperature does it keep the coffee? I prefer my coffee hot.
A shopper on Dec 21, 2015
Best Answer: Heating element in upper chamber is timed to go off 2 hours after the coffee is brewed. Coffee that is drawn just after brewing is nice and hot...later it's hot..not warm...but not piping hot...hotter than other coffee makers... The last cup does not seem to have that stale "sitting too long in the coffee urn on the burner taste". This is our second coffee maker of this model...we use it daily...the first lasted 4 years before the element died

self cleaning? does that mean you never need to clean it with white vinegar?
A shopper on Feb 7, 2016
Best Answer: Nope...there is a lite that comes on to tell you it's time to do the vinegar thing. I wipe out the coffee container every so often with a paper towel and also wipe clean the metal heat conducting plate.
