Genius
This product is awesome, once you figure out how it works. To get the sharpening/blade protector off, you need to press the button in the center of wheel. I had to google it to find the video how to before I got it working, because it wasn't on the packaging or the Sur La Table website. Otherwise this is a very sharp pizza cutter, has good weight to it and the blade is constantly smooth to use because of the ability to sharpen whenever. I would buy this again in a heartbeat

Self sharpening PizzaCutter
Bought this as a gift for my son and his fiancee. The last one they had broke, and they had it only a few months. So I decided that we need the ""cadillac"" of pizzza cutter.

Love it, they are very happy with it too

not long lasting
Bought this for my 60 year old parents about a year ago. The sharpening element broke off about 2 months ago. The wheel came off last night. They are starting to reuse their 30 year old dull pizza cutter.

Maybe it's just not made for left-handers
I really wanted to love this product. The blade is excellent and the built-in sharpener was a great added benefit. Unfortunately, I almost cut up my hand when the blade popped off the handle. Ideally, one slices with an even hand, with pressure going perpendicular to the pizza. However, I think most people press inward to a certain slight degree. If you are pressing in as a right-hander, you are pressing the wheel in to the pin, with the pressure holding it securely in place. If you are a left-hander, you are pressing the wheel away from the pin, which is how I suspect mine popped off. There isn't anything to hold the wheel and pin in place, which works under the assumption that the user is a righty. I hate that I have to return it--it's truly lovely, but I do need both hands...
