Quick and Impressive
I just purchased these and had to quickly bake a cake for a birthday this weekend. I skipped the "from scratch" method, and used one box of cake mix for the 4 pans. I was impressed how evenly and quick they cooked (keep a close eye on them!) and easily popped out of the pan. The end result looked like have been baking cakes for decades! Can't wait to bake a zucchini carrot cake with cream cheese frosting for Easter!

Lemon-strawberry ice cream filled cake
Just purchased the pans, and decided to make your featured lemon cake. Do not follow the directions for the cake. It says to use three pans. I did, and had an oven filled of overflow. Remade the cake using the four pans, and that worked.

Beautiful cake
One box of cake mix makes the 4 thin layers. When put together, it makes a very tall cake that is impressive. The cakes cooked evenly and fast. Cleanup was easy. The possibilities are endless with cake/icing combos, or cake/ice cream. I haven't tried the cake/ice cream combo yet but I will. It would be nice to keep in the freezer for a quick dessert. Love these pans!

Easy to use!
This may be smaller that it appears but still perfect for making something unique. Works perfectly with a box cake mix. Clean up is a snap! Would purchase again, I like it a lot.

Really fun product
I made my husband a bday cake using this set for the first time. My kids picked the colors and we added food coloring to each layer. The results were so adorable. Great product. I'm glad I got it.

Good idea but really does not work. A box of cake mix is way too much for these pans. Another bad investment going to Good Will!

Interesting. Going to do strawberries and whipped cream for my first try. Something different

How many pans does it come with? One picture shows 2, and the other shows four.
Thank you
A shopper on Feb 23, 2015
Best Answer: My set came with 4 pans in one box. I haven't used it yet, but look forward to doing so. The box has text that says one boxed cake mix fills the four pans. (Although, I usually bake from scratch.)

can you freeze cake after completing?
Martha P on Apr 4, 2015
Best Answer: Hi Again, Martha
re-read your question - so here's some more info that might help you. If you have questions about what/how to freeze foods, you can always start by looking at what's available in your freezer section of whichever market you shop at. Of course, manufacturers have additives which help with freeze/thaw, but it gives you some idea to start with. To your question the cake can be frozen completely frosted or unfrosted, (think frozen ice cream cakes you see in stores), but then you'll have to take it out of the freezer beforehand to make it more palatable - a bit softer, if you will, but of course not too soft so all of the ice cream starts oozing. out. Good luck!

How long do the layers bake?
A shopper on May 3, 2015
Best Answer: I wish I could help you out but I have not had to opportunity to use them yet. My best guess would be not very long because they pans are shallow. I will be checking the cooking time with toothpicks every 5 minutes. I believe that will be the guaranteed way to figure it out and I will only do two pans to start. My initial reason for buying these pans is I like making ice cream cakes and they fit in my narrow freezer very nicely. I would highly recommend to add these to one's kitchen. I hope this helped. Have fun baking. ;)

what tray could this be served on that would fit?
Carolynn on Apr 5, 2015
Best Answer: Bad news---this cake does NOT fit on the 4.5 x 11.5 blanc tray. The measurements for the tray are for the OUTSIDE of the tray. A finished cake is too large to fit on the inside of the tray. Unfortunately, I found this out after ordering the pans and the tray. I would not have ordered the tray had I known it would not work. Luckily it was not an expensive mistake, but I will be looking for a better tray to serve this cake with.

Is this for baking bread?
Rosalind N on May 8, 2015
Best Answer: These are small rectangle pans, used for making a torte cake. It's great because you can make each layer a different color and when iced and sliced it looks lovely. The pans are very shallow and I don't think that baking bread would be great, because when it rises I think it will overflow the pan.

what are dimensions of pans?
A shopper on May 2, 2015
Best Answer: The dimensions are as follows: 9.75" long - 3.75" wide - .75" deep. Some will say they aren't 'big' enough, but when you have 3 layers of cake and 2 layers of ice cream, it's plenty for a small group. I'm now thinking of other ways to use them besides cake and ice cream. Great fun!!

Does it come with a recipe?
A shopper on Jun 4, 2015
Best Answer: I did not get a recipe but it is simple. Make your favorite cake - mine was from a box. And then get creative. I used a white cake with sliced strawberries and cool whip one time, next time I did a chocolate boxed cake and between 2 layers I used whipped cream and then on the other I used chocolate ganache and then iced the whole cake with whipped cream - it was yummy. Also made it using a boxed cake with ice cream in between the layers - it was so good. It is a fun cake pan because you can use your imagination.
