Nice pan .. BUT
Big ""but"" intentional. I love this pan. Bakes great bread. It comes right out. Easy to clean, except for one thing. I washed it by hand. Turned upside down on a towel to drain and left it there for an hour. Put it away. Next time I took it out, there were drops of rust running out of the bottom corners. RUST!

Not sure what I'm going to do now, but I thought you'd want to know about this

Best pan I found for gluten free breads
I love this pan! Since going gluten free it has been such a struggle finding a pan that would give me a good sandwich-sized loaf & this does the job perfectly. Since nothing ever sticks, I'm able to just wipe it out with a damp paper towel & it's good to go again

Love it
I really enjoy using this pan. Have had it for a couple of months now and it has performed flawlessly for me. Loaves just fall out. It feels substantial and I have had no problems at all.

I want to make genuine pumpernickel bread.

I love the Professional series; but liked this specific loaf pan because of the slide-on lid. I think it will be great to store quick breads after baking.

Only looking for pfoa and ptfe free bakeware - this looks like it has a high degree of potential.

Can anyone tell how the lid can be used? Just for storage or during baking too?
Milana B on Mar 22, 2015
Best Answer: The lid is used during baking, specifically for making Pan de Mie. Pan de Mie is a French type of bread that is made in this loaf pan. You put the dough in the pan and slide the lid on and bake. When the bread is done baking it will be in a perfect square shape for making sandwiches. Pan de Mie is used in the classic French sandwiches: Croque Monsiuer & Croque Madame.

I'm trying to transition from baking in a bread machine to baking in the oven. What size loaf recipe is best to use in the pullman loaf pan is it more than 2 lbs. or less?
Diane T on Jan 15, 2015
Best Answer: I use less than 2 lbs. But the amount of rise your bread will get, and fit into the pan against the top, will also depend on the type of flour you use, the amount of yeast and even how warm your oven is. It's a bit of work to get the measurements just right, but worth it :) I use this ti make bread for my husband's lunch that will actually fit into sandwich bags.

I just received this lovely pan an hour ago and I spent more than 10 minutes trying to open it & clean it - it cannot be opened. Am I missing anything? There is an inch dent under the curling pulling lid - is that a damage in transportation or is it meant to be there? I dont want to use any screw driver to peel open the lid - any suggestion is helpful. Thank you.

Best Answer: The top slide back. If it doesn't slide off, then it is damaged
