Pop a healthy snack in less than three minutes with this microwaveable popcorn maker. Simply fill the silicone bowl with up to ⅓-cup unpopped popcorn kernels, cover with the lid, and microwave for two to three minutes (microwave power and cooking times vary), or until kernels are no longer popping. Mix in your favorite spice blend or topping and enjoy! Container collapses for space-saving storage. Includes tasty recipes for curry, herb and honey-nut popcorn.
I am very impressed with this item! All the popcorn popped in less than 2 minutes in my microwave. I just put the kernels in the bowl, popped them, and added a little salt at the end. Next time I will probably add melted butter at the end for more flavor.
I really like that this popper is collapsible too. I had a glass microwave popcorn maker in the past that didn't pop the popcorn very well and it took up a lot of space in the cabinet. This one works much better.
Saw an email from SLT that had this item on it and knew I had to buy it and try it. Works very well - pops in about 2 minutes. I had set my microwave for 3 minutes, but stopped it with 45 seconds left and had a few burnt pieces. Which means next time I'll set the zapper for 2 minutes. I LOVE that this is collapsible because I had the glass popcorn popper and broke it. it was also difficult to find a storage space for it. If you like the convenience of microwave popcorn, but not all the additives in store bought products, you need this bowl!
I use it almost everyday for a healthy afternoon snack. I love it so much, I am buying them to make Popcorn Christmas Gift Baskets. I'll add popcorn, seasonings, and a bowl to the gift basket. Perfect!
This is a wonderful invention - I love it! Be sure to stop your microwave when there are 2 - 3 seconds between pops and nothing ever burns, which was a problem with other poppers. Yes, there are some old maids, but I'll happily sacrifice those kernels for unburned popcorn! It's easy to clean and especially easy to store since it collapses. The last time I used it, I added some fine sea salt and a small amount of sugar to the popper and it tasted sensational. I'm looking forward to trying other seasoning, too.
We just got this on a whim and absolutely love it! Popcorn tasted great, no burnt kernels, easy to use and clean. and no storage issues unlike the typical popcorn popper. No buyer's remorse with this product at all!
This is the best microwave popcorn popper! In fact, just as good as stove popped, and much healthier! I repop the few remaining old maid kernels and they even pop! Great invention, and the bowl collapses for easy storage and the lid can be used to reheat other microwave foods! I bought additional poppers for the whole family.
I love this to death. My favorite way to make and eat popcorn. The only problem is when you remove it from the microwave it is very easy to get a steam burn as the tendency is to grab the bowl by the top, therefore letting a little steam escape as you pull aimed directly at your finger. As long as you are aware you won't burn yourself, but just be careful.
I received this as a gift and it works even better than I expected. Toss in a quarter-cup of kernels, a tablespoon of oil, a big pinch of salt and away you go. In my microwave, 2 minutes was perfect. You can hold the bowl even when it is very hot, and cleaning is is really easy. Stores in a slot above the microwave. Love this!
This is the best microwave popcorn popper! I can pop corn in it without oil, but I usually brush a tiny bit of oil on the bottom of the bowl before adding popcorn. It pops beautifully and then the few kernels that didn't pop can be repopped. When finished, the bowl collapses and storage is minimal.
I just received this and let's say I was skeptical when I received it. How could this flexible little bowl produce a perfect bowl of popcorn? I put in 1/4 C of popcorn (purchased here- Highly recommend White Cat Corn), a tablespoon of olive oil, and a sprinkle of Kosher Salt. WOW! Best tasting, cooked to perfection, fluffiest popcorn ever! My kids gobbled this up and said they like it much better than the "bagged" supermarket brand. I cooked it for 2 minutes in my 700 Watt micro- perfect!!! Highly Recommend!
Great buy, and look forward to picking more as gifts and for the office. Perfect for New Years resolutions --- make no-fat, high-fiber, snack in just 2 1/2 minutes. Set the microwave and walk away! So glad these are back in stock!
I shopped around for the perfect Pop Corn maker for the longest time. This is IT! The collapsible feature makes for easy storage, it's light but sturdy, SUPER EASY to use and to clean, easy to re-use quickly for multiple batches. I bought it for myself and as a present for my neighbors and they love it too!!
I'd had a bad experience with the glass microwave popcorn maker (soggy popcorn) so doubted this would work but was determined to try it. I am very pleased with the results so far and expect they'll get better as I get more accustomed to using the popcorn maker. The popped corn it makes isn't quite as dry/light as packaged microwave corn but I'm going to keep adjusting the amount of oil and time/power. Cleanup and storage is easy - the bowl compresses down so takes up less space than it looks. the instruction booklet was only somewhat helpful - the other reviews had better suggestions for success. Basically, super pleased with the product.
Why did I wait so long? I love air-popped popcorn, and I had been using a popular brand of air-popper for some time, but I got tired of having it spew out unpopped (but hot!) kernels and it also left loads of unpopped kernels in the bottom. The Lekue popper is perfect!!! It is easy, fast and pops every single kernel of corn--I love it!!
I was hesitant because of the price, but this popcorn maker works great! 2.5 minutes in the microwave with a little oil and salt and you get delicious popcorn without all of the chemicals and garbage in traditional microwave popcorn. Love it and would highly recommend it. Also, it's great that it folds down for easy storage!!!
This product has worked very well for us. I haven't used any oil when popping and I have followed the directions to adjust the microwave power to avoid burning the popcorn. I would recommend also following the directions for how long to pop by checking it at intervals as it suggest to avoid burning. We have been very happy with it, and it takes us little space.
I haven't even used this as a popcorn popper yet (just bought) and I am ready just delighted with it! For some time I have been looking for something to toss a small salad in that is washable and foldable. This red bowl is perfect!
There are other "foldable" bowls on the market but they eventually crack and split. I love the softness of this product.
I love to eat popcorn but current pop it in small brown paper bags in the microwave. This seems to be a more cost-effective way to pop the corn plus able to pop more all at one time than my current technique.
I had the glass microwave popper that Sur la Table sells and while it was great, it took up a lot of storage space and was also fragile (and ended up breaking). When I saw this by Lekue, it looked like exactly what I need. I can't wait to try it!
Breville instruction manual (page 10) says that popcorn cannot be popped in the microwave unless it is commercially packaged. I would love this silicone popper, but can I use it without damaging the microwave?

Best Answer:If the Breville Microwave does not recommend it, then I wouldn't suggest risking it, as it would void your warranty.
Can this item be used for other things, like heating soup in the microwave?

Best Answer:I'm giving it as a gift so It hasn't actually been opened yet. But as a chef myself I would think you probably could since the rubber wouldn't conduct as much heat as say a ceramic bowl would and more of the energy would be concentrated on the liquid itself. But that's just my opinion. I couldn't tell you for sure :)
If anyone know the answer to this, it would be appreciated. 1000W Whirlpool microwave, I am currently using 1/4 cup kernels and one tbsp. of oil set at 2:10, and I am still getting about 70 kernels at the bottom that are burnt. I have put it at 2:30, but it totally burned the entire batch of popcorn. I really don't want to put it past 2:10 because that is where I am hearing pops more than 2-3 seconds apart. Help?

Best Answer:Are you lowering the power level of your microwave? If not, you should for all the Lekue products. I think they recommend a power level of 800. Hope that helps!
I have a 1200W GE and have had to experiment to find best time, amount of popcorn and oil to get a good bowl of popcorn. I use around 1/3 C kernels, and maybe a little more oil with salt and use my "popcorn" button on my microwave, which I do stand there listening to see if popping slows down. Since using more oil I have eliminated burned popcorn, but still have kernels not popped.
I have a GE Advantium Microwave 1000+W and use 1/4 level cup of White Cat Popcorn and cook it for +/- 3 minutes with no oil on high. Perhaps no oil is the answer as I tried putting a pad of butter on top of the kernels and found I got some burned popcorn. Pour on melted butter and seasoning (Slap ya Mama for a kick) and enjoy!
We use 3 tbls of popcorn (which is almost 1/4 cup), no oil, at 1:35. And we love it!!! We sometimes drizzle a little olive oil, add our choice of seasoning and enjoy a delicious and healthy snack. Hope this helps.
can you use it in a 700 watt microwave? Allowed in residence halls/dorms?

Best Answer:3 tablespoons of popcorn pop in 2.5 minutes in my 1100 watt microwave. That would be equivalent to 3.56 minutes in a 700 watt oven There are online calculators to adjust other recipes by searching for cooking time by microwave watt. Be sure the 6" height will fit your microwave. By the way, it makes fabulous popcorn! There are some old maids, but it you stop it when there are 2 or 3 seconds between pops , it never burns anything! I love that it collapses and is easy to wash, too. Good luck!
I am not sure about the wattage of my micro. However, you may have to adjust the popping time. Instructions are to use 1/2 C kernels (we find it too many kernels and reduced it to 1/3 C) We also use about 1/2 tbsp. oil instead of the full 1 tbsp. We have a popcorn setting and it seems to work best. Popping it 3-1/2-4 mins in my micro burned the popcorn. The popcorn setting goes about 3 mins. I hope this helps. If I find out my wattage, I will answer again over the weekend.
I have a 700W microwave oven also (I prefer having just a small microwave); it works great. I bought the red white & blue popcorn; there are two fill lines built into the popcorn cooker, I fill it to the smaller line, put it on high, and it takes just 2.5 to 3 minutes. Wonderful popcorn, very easy. I just bought a second Lekue as a Christmas gift, I liked mine so much.
Oh, I want to add that I like this micro popper. I get a healthier popcorn vs. the pre-packaged micro popcorn. I bought a hot-air popper and because it's not very tall, the kernels fly out all over the place. So far, we are enjoying the Lekue.
Best Answer:Can't answer yet since I am giving this item for Christmas. However, I plan to use it in my 1000 watt microwave. The other lekue product I have I use in it without a problem. And remember if you need to lower the oven's wattage you can always adjust the power to 90% or lower yourself,
I could not find the wattage on my microwave, but it is a larger one and I think it might be 1000 wattage. I add 1/3 cup unpopped kernels, and it makes about 3 quarts of perfectly popped delicious popcorn. It's super easy.
