Nice size for Entree Salads
I bought extras in this size because it's perfect for individual dinner sized salads.

Perfect bowl for small servings
I purchased 14 of these tempered glass 10.5 oz bowls to use as fruit bowls, ice cream, condiments, and for feeding a grandbaby as well as letting her use them later. The next size up would also have been appropriate for this. We've always had small tempered glass bowls for these purposes; they're actually quite nice for small kids as their heavier weight makes them easier for them to manage. Our previous 2 sets had more style -- one with a scalloped edge, one with a cut pattern -- but neither ever stacked nicely and we were down to just 5 out of the original 8 of the last set. (1 broken, 2 chipped after 12 years) I made sure to have enough to use for family brunch fruit bowls this time. I certainly appreciate how nicely these bowls stack and expect to have them around for an equally long time

I had to have this size...it seems my mixing bowls were all too small or too big.

I have the 2oz bowls like these and I needed the bigger sizes. Can't wait to get them!!

I see Ina Garten use them so much on her show. I have also experienced never having a mixing bowl large enough the price is reasonable to give it a try. If i like it i will likely buy more.

Do these sizes have comparable inches?

I'm confused by these sizes... are there comparable inches (Ie: 10inch bowl or 8inch bowl, etc)

Can these be used as a double boiler?

I was told that these bowls can be used as a double boiler insert by placing it on top of a pot and melting the chocolate or frosting in it. Has anyone used them like that? Do they work well? Will they endure the heat and not break, etc? Thanks in advance

These are made with tempered glass so you should be able to use it to melt chocolate or icing over boiling water without any problems.

Can the bowls be used as measuring cups? For example, is the bottom of the rim the marker for 2 oz, 4 oz, etc?
Rhonda T on Mar 28, 2015
Best Answer: I would not use them as measuring cups - I don't know how precise they truly are. However, if you measure something like sugar in a measuring cup and then measure them in these bowls, and the amounts are identical, then I would say you are fine.
These are great bowls - I have them in all sizes. I use them as dinner bowls for my little dogs - they fit them perfectly !

What is the measurement of the 16.9 oz bowl I now see listed?

On another site, I saw a 5 1/2""bowl from this line. Since I am looking for a replacement for another set of bowls I use constantly, this is the size I would prefer. I hope it is a match
