Belgian waffles without the storage issue!
I've been debating getting a Belgian waffle iron for some time, but not wanting to drop $100 for a big appliance and have to figure out where to put it. Picked this up at the store last night and made 4 big waffles this morning on my electric glass-top stove. Works like a charm, non-stick coating released easily. Pops into dishwasher. I preheated both pieces on 2 burners and just kept one burner going to reheat the top side each time I removed a waffle. Quick and easy! Find another recipe, the one on the package is not an authentic Belgium waffle texture...it's more fluffy and popover-ish...should have been a clue when it called for stiff egg whites folded in...enjoy

Works just like I hoped!
Bought some sourdough starter on a trip to VT and learned that feeding required tossing out a cup each time — but you can use that cast-off to make sourdough waffle/pancake batter (overnight). The pancakes were good, but the batter begged for a waffle iron. Didn't want a big appliance for only occasional use, and this works like a charm. Two minutes each side on medium heat, no oiling needed, you can even easily check toastiness in progress. Rinsed it off after use on principle (looked perfectly clean). If you pour not-quite-enough batter into the center (1 very full cup for my batter), you can cook up a lovely round Belgium-like shape. Very happy.
