Must have!
So glad KitchenAid now offers a blade that scrapes down the sides for you as it mixes. This saves time, particularly on the professional models where you may need to lower the bowl in order to scrape down the sides. This avoids the temptation to scrape while the mixer is working (DO NOT DO THIS), and avoids the warranty issue that similar non-KitchenAid models suffered. Bottom line: If you ever use your mixing attachment, you need this. It's the best money you'll ever spend.

Great gift as well for anyone who's owned a KitchenAid for many years and may not know that this is even an option

Works well
Glad to have this beater in my collection. It does scrape the side of the bowl as it mixes. Makes the process go faster since I don't have to stop the mixer to scrape the sides.

I use this beater specifically for making cookies and cupcakes. It cleans the side of the mixer as it mixes the batter, so there's no need to stop and scrape the side of the bowl.

I have the 6 Qt Lift Mixer (KSM6573COB2). I purchased this 6 Qt Flex Edge beater, and tried to use it in my stainless bowl. It did NOT work. It is too wide for the bowl. Am I supposed to be using a different bowl? Or the smaller beater?
Cheryl W on Mar 7, 2015
Best Answer: Hello, I will try to help if I can. I have always purchased these flex edge beaters to go with my KitchenAid mixers because they are the best all-around beater, in my opinion. Because I use my mixer mainly for cookies and cakes, I rarely use any other beater. In fact, I've used this beater for making bread, too! I have had to replace the beaters after a few years because the white enamel will eventually chip off in spots, even though I never put it in the dishwasher. I am very confused as to why your beater and your mixer don't work together. It IS very important that you get the right size of beater to match the mixer, but it appears that you have. I have never purchased any other bowls than the ones that have come with the mixer in the original boxes, so I don't think you need to buy another bowl. My guess is that for some reason your 6-qt. mixer MAY have come with the 5-qt. bowl---- and therefore you will need the 5-qt. beater to match and make it fit. It would be useful to know if you have purchased your mixer from a store like Sur La Table or if you bought it at say Target or Costco. I've noticed that the ones from Target or Costco (or the like) are much less expensive, BUT they are not always what they say they are. If I were you, I would keep the bowl you have and try a smaller beater. If that works, you will know that you were not given the proper size bowl with your 6-qt. mixer. You can buy a bigger bowl if you'd like one, but if you are happy with the size you have then I wouldn't worry about it. Hope that helps! Sorry, I know this can be frustrating, and the beaters are not cheap!

I have an old Kitchen Aid upright mixer and am not sure of the size. Is it possible to obtain exact measurement of the beater?
A shopper on Nov 28, 2013
Best Answer: You'll probably fare better by finding out the size of your KitchenAid's bowl. If it is a professional model where the bowl raises and lowers, it is probably a 6-quart, and this is the right size for you. If you don't recall the size of your bowl, grab the serial # (generally on the underside of the machine) and call KitchenAid and they should be able to tell you.More recently, KitchenAid added a 7-quart model, but if you didn't buy your mixer in the last couple years, and the bowl lowers/raises, it's most likely a 6-quart, and this is the perfect size

I have a KA bowl # KfG25H. Will this flex edge beater work with this?
Kathy A on Apr 27, 2015
Best Answer: Well I have now answered my own question after some research...KA does not make a Flex beater for the KG25H at this time.
Go to the KA website and have your model # handy when looking. It will tell you what flex beater goes with any model (except mine). Bowl sizes are different. Even on Amazon it will tell you...but needs to match your mixer model.

Will this fit the kitchenaid 6500?
Sharon B on Jun 20, 2015
Best Answer: I purchased this beater as a gift for a friend. She has a professional Kitchenaid mixer - I'm not sure of the model number. It did not work in the professional model.
