Nighttime grilling just got a whole lot easier! This weather-resistant, year-round light secures to the hood handle of your grill, enabling you to see your sizzling steaks or burgers. Five powerful LED bulbs provide light directly to your grill and can be rotated, as needed.
Stretch the silicone strap around the grill handle and secure it by attaching the strap to the hook. Press the on/off button to illuminate the grill light. Heat-resistant to 500° F. Requires three AA (1½ volt) batteries, not included.
This is a difficult product for me to rate. The light must be used with a grill handle that is exactly like the photo. Our grill has a handle that made it hard to install. The first time we put it on the silicone strap broke. We now have to figure out how to attach it so it will work. The battery compartment is tricky to open. You need a tiny screwdriver.
The first time I tried to use this the strap broke. Very poorly designed. To change the batteries is a pain. You have to remove several tiny screws just to access where the batteries go. I wouldn't buy this at any price and definitely do not recommend it
First I must say my kitchen and BBQ cart are loaded with Sur La Table products. However, they have had multiple fails with this grill light. Originaly I had the previous model that tightened on the handle with screws - this one never stayed in place or popped off. So I returned it and bought this one. On the second use the strap broke. I knew when trying to install it I could feel the strap being stretched to its limits. i just threw this one away - I should have returned it but was so frustrated with this product I just tossed it. This items looks cool - don't be fooled - it is terrible
This design presumes a maximum distance between the lid bar of the grill and the lid edge. On my DCS grill, that distance is too large for this lamp, such that the lid edge prevents the light from illuminating the cooking surface. Also, the cylindrical lid bar of my grill freely rotates like a towel bar so that, even if the lid bar distance was OK, the lamp itself rotates on the lid bar as I open and close the grill
It's junk. I have the tiny screwdriver you need to install the batteries, it fit on my bbq lid, it worked for a week. Then the hook for the strap broke, it dropped off the bbq and is now in the trash, because it won't even light up anymore. PLEASE don't waste your money on this. It's just not worth it
My mother purchased this for my husband for Christmas 2012. First it took us months to even get the item open to put batteries in because we did not have a screwdriver small enough. Finally we were able to use it and he tried to strap it on the grill and the strap broke. $20 for a product we never could use. What a waste.
I received a red grill light, a flip-tip digital thermometer and a Kuhn Rikon paring knife as Christmas gifts. The on/off switch on the light did not work. I called customer service and resolved the problem with one phone call. I received a new unit 5 days later. This is the first problem I've ever had with a product from Sur la Table. This is a Great Company
I've attached the LED Grill light to the handle of my Weber Genesis grill per the instructions, however, when grill is closed the silicon gets very hot to the touch. The grill is maybe 400 degrees. How hot can this get before I need to worry about it melting

Best Answer:Usually Silicon can go to 500°. But I'm sure the batteries are not designed to take that much heat. I would take the light off when you close the grill.
Most manufacturers specify that the max. temperature not exceed 428 degrees F.Your handle should not get to that temperature in normal grilling mode.If the temperature goes above 428 degrees you are entering the range where it will start to melt. The silicone will burn if in direct contact with the flame. Enjoy!
I've replaced batteries even tho not used & my lite still does not turn on.

Best Answer:The on/off switch is located at the widest end of the light. It is an oval that you press to turn on and off.The directions recommend if there is a long period of time between uses that you remove the batteries until the next use
