Best Answer:The stone and the electric coil become very very hot. I would not let a child place the pizza on the stone. I would absolutely recommend adult supervision. However I think it could be a great cooking experience: making the dough, patting it out, putting cheese/sauce/veggies on the pizza is FUN. But let an adult do the transferring onto the hot stone.
Yes it is too hot for most children. The outside of the oven is hot to the touch enough to burn (I've already burned myself once). It does a fantastic job on pizzas, but I won't let my grand children who are under 10 touch it. The 10 year old can only use it under very close supervision.
