In love!
If you can't tell by the title, I am in love with my jelly roll pan. It is so versatile and I've used it for a million different things, including melding hard candy. It was a pricy item for me to purchase (as I was a college student at the time) but has become an integral part to my kitchen.

The metal has not warped, it can take a good scrubbing, it has not rusted, and my cookies are always cooked evenly. I've purchased more Chicago Metallic pans from my experience with this one item

Sticky Mess
For the life of me, I cannot get the sticky goo off the pan that was left over from the label. I have tried everything, including baking soda which turned dark grey. I assume it scrubbed the top coating off? Terrible choice of adhesive. I will definitely be returning this product

Don't buy
We have two of these cookie sheets. On both of these sheets the aluminized coating peeled right out. They have rusted up immediately after.

Perfect sheet pan
When I watch cooking shows, a lot of time I watch it just too see what product they use. Almost all chefs that I have seen use this kind of a pan, so I decided to try it also. I definitely will be buying more and hoping to replace all my ""cheap"" non-stick pans. This pan is very sturdy and it doesn't slide all over the oven rack

great sheet pan
I ordered this product a few months ago and am happy to report that it is holding up very well after extensive use. No rusting, no discoloration. I should also mention that my initial order had a few dents, and Sur La Table issued me a free replacement and told me I could keep the first pan as well. Great service & great product. Highly recommende

Embossed lettering ruins smooth surface on current version
I was stunned to get these home and realize, after peeling off the label, that the words 'Chicago Metallic' were embossed on the bottom of the pan. Embossed, as in, raised up to ruin the smooth baking surface, create obstacles for spatulas, and guarantee fun times trying to clean that rough little patch.

What on earth were they thinking?

The photos on the site are of the old style pans, which is what I was trying to replace, and don't show the embossing. Don't buy unless scrubbing tiny irregularities in the surface sounds like fun. I am returning them.

Indispensable!
I simply cannot live without these sheet pans. I own several and use them constantly. Well made, nonstick (though I usually use parchment) and versatile.

I have these pans and after washing by hand and then in the dishwasher they started to leave a gray film on the counter and the dishtowel I used to dry them. Is this normal? Is there another brand or type of pan that is NOT non stick that won't have the finish rub off? We have birds at home and cannot have nonstick finishes. Thanks
A shopper on Aug 6, 2014
Best Answer: If you're noticing a grey residue, it's likely a result of putting it in the dishwasher, as the pan is made of aluminum. Even though it's dishwasher safe, I highly recommend handwashing it. If you're looking for bakeware that it's nonstick and you intend to put it in the dishwasher regularly, I would steer more toward stainless steel than aluminum. AllClad makes stainless steel bakeware.

How is this different from the "half sheet" pan? They both appear to be 12 x 16 3/4

Chicago Metallic® Commercial II Half Sheet Pan, 12" x 16¾"
Chicago Metallic® Commercial II Jelly Roll Pan, 15

Best Answer: The jelly roll pan is a bit smaller at 15x10 and will have a slightly higher edge than a traditional sheet pan.

What is uncoated aluminized steel? Could a cleaning pad loosen an aluminum finish and possibly get aluminum on the food that is cooked on it?
A shopper on Apr 2, 2014
Best Answer: Uncoated simply means it doesn't have a nonstick coating. A cleaning pad won't loosen the finish, as it's bonded to the pan with silicone so the aluminum doesn't touch the food cooked on it.

will a 16.5"" x 11"" cooling grid fit inside

- will the stainless steel 16.5"" x 11"" cooling & baking grid (also sold on this site) fit inside?- just to make sure, it doesn't have the ""chicago metallic"" logo stamped on the inside of the pan bottom, right
A shopper on Feb 1, 2014
Best Answer: There is no logo stamped in the middle of this pan.I don't believe the cooling grid would fit in this pan. The surface of the pan is barely 16 1/2"" long, so it would be too tight of a squeeze

Is there a nonstick coating on the pan? Thanks!
A shopper on Feb 27, 2012
Best Answer: This pan is not nonstick. It is made of uncoated aluminized steel.
