"performs well, not meant for flat electric ranges"
The pan works very well. However, if you like to make gravy by taking the pan from the oven straight to the burner, this will only work for gas and electric coil ranges (where the coils are raised above the range surface). The base is concave, meaning there's a slight dome if you're looking at the inside. Therefore, if you have one of those flat glass electric ranges, the majority of the bottom will never come in direct contact with the heat
This larger baking pan was what I needed but then the insert limited the size of roast or fowl I could cook in it. Clean up, when you use it aggressively, needs a bit more than soap and water. I encourage you to purchase the Bar Keep cleanser for a beautiful shine
Like all of the All-Clad line, this pan is an investment in a great cooking tool. If you are serious about cooking, you know the importance of working with quality tools. You pay more initially, but these are pans that you can use and hand down to your children. My only regret is that I didn't purchase All-Clad years ago. We roasted our Thanksgiving turkey and made gravy in this pan and it was wonderful. Highly recommend
I received a cheaper roaster for christmas one year and the roaster was ok but it hasn't stood the test of time. I purchased an all clad roaster and use it several times a year for roasting vegetables, turkey, roast beef, and making gravy on my stove top. Clean up is a breeze a little soap and water and done
Skipped the turkey and made a standing rib roast. Have been wanting a pan like this for a very long time. Beautiful pan, very well made, and worth every penny. I love the way the rack sits so close to the bottom. It is indeed heavy, but it's stainless. The handles give a very good grip on it. Clean-up was easy. This is the second piece of All-Clad that I own. I love these pots & pans!
We purchased this pan just before Christmas. We used it to roast potatoes in it. I think a more shallow pan is best for potatoes done this way if you want crispy on the outside. I used Yukons and will try Russet next time. Looking forward to using it for meat or veggies.
I have always wanted a 'real' roasting pan... I have an old aluminum one that I've used for many years, and this one being on sale for such a good price pushed me to take the plunge! I also like the fact that the roasting rack is stainless steel, and although I don't have All-Clad cookware, I know it is a quality product.
I chose this item because it is for my nieces wedding. As a host of many, many family and friend celebrations and holidays, I am almost ready to pass the torch. There is nothing like sharing a meal with good laughter, conversation and of course good FOOD to meld families together.
I saw this at William Sonoma and liked the quality. However, Sur La Table had better pricing, has great customer service-very friendly, and offered gift wrapping. I like the Roosevelt Field Store because the sales people are very helpful. I did this as an internet order could not get to the mall.
There is no better cookware in my mind than All-Clad. Made in the USA with products sourced here, if i can afford it I buy All-Clad. They are long lasting products that perform beautifully. If you're serious about your cooking, All-Clad is a must. And they show it here with this set. It's hard to find a big roaster w/o non-stick in the inside. This is a must have for all you bird lovers out there :)
I love cooking on roasting pans. I've used one of these before and I like the roasting rack design, keeping the meat slightly higher than the liquid level gets during cooking. Looks like a high quality metal that will be usable for years.
After purchasing a cheap roaster that the non-stick coating flaked off after roasting a pork shoulder overnight, then using disposable pans for a turkey, with no decent lifters or rack - I'd had enough & decided to get a decent set at last! The Q&A, reviews & seeing the roasters in store helped w/ my decision.
Reviews were glowing and looking for a good roasting pan that can go on stove top, too with a good good rack to keep turkey above the fat in bottom and I think that (with those straight handles) it will also fit within my 27" wall ovens! If not - Sur La Table will gladly return!!
Best Answer:All-Clad’s revolutionary three-ply bonded design features a thick aluminum core for even, efficient heat distribution, sandwiched between durable layers of stainless steel. Ergonomic, stay-cool handles offer greater comfort and control. Magnetic stainless steel exterior is suitable for use on all cooking surfaces, including induction.
Yes but made in China not in the US I have bought another pan made in China that has not held up so well - rust on the handles. I let Sur La Table know and they listed it under my purchases and told me to bring it back if that happened
What is the highest oven temperature this roaster can withstand?

Best Answer:I bought this online as a wedding gift so I never saw the particulars on the box-- but I'll bet if you call the SurLaTable 800 number folks, they could dig up that information for you. I wish you all the best in your cooking!
