"Paint comes off, not safe to cook"
We seasoned the pan as recommended in the instructions and when we first try to use it the black paint melted and the smell was pretty bad. I don't think it would be safe to eat any food that gets some of this paint. Other places have a similar item, slightly at a higher price, that appear to be made of cast iron and stainless steel grate

poor quality !
Ok everyone ! This is terrible! what a disappointment. The paint bubble's and emits a horrible smell. This is unsafe to use. How can Sur la table have this in their store? STOP USING AND RETURN !

Paint Melted
As another review stated the paint melted and we had to return the roaster.

Totally Disappointed
Paint caught on fire and burned off the first time I tired to use it. Don't think it's safe to use this product. Mine is going in the trash.

Toxic
My friend and I were so excited to use this grill pan. We had all of our peppers ready to go. We throw two poblanos on and a terrible smell filled the room. The peppers were covered in the black paint that coats this grill. Needless to say, it is now in the trashcan. Unsafe. Do not use.

Love it
Yes, the paint does bubble off and it's smelly the first time (put it on the grill outside!). I don't use the wooden handles because I was afraid they'd catch on fire; instead I use tongs to manuever it. Works great upside down on the grill outside to corral veggies too. It's not fancy, but it works

Does its job!
This little roaster does exactly what it's supposed to do. It's a little disconcerting that the paint seems to bubble off when you first put it over the flame, and it doesn't fit correctly on our stove grate, but it does its job and we use it a lot to make tortillas, salsas, roast peppers, etc. Makes the best tortillas we've had

Failure
The black paint MELTED onto the food which we had to throw out! Not anywhere close to normal absurd la Table standards.
I'm returning.

My mom used for roasting chiles and other veg. I've been using something smaller, but now need to upgrade. I like that you can adapt roasting area by placing on different sized burners.

how I can season this item?, mine came without instructions. THANKS
