Fantastic addition to any kitchen!
I already had a wonderful set of knives, but no Santoku. I purchased the 7"" size and use it all the time--strong enough to cut through artichokes and even frozen pumpkin bread. If you are even considering making this purchase, it is definitely worth the money!

Best knife in my set
I currently work as a kitchen manager, and have worked in kitchens for 14 years. I have a full set of Wusthof knives, from a variety of collections including three from the pro series, four classics and a 10"" classic ikon Chef's knife. Out of all of them, there isn't a single knife in my bag that is more reliable than this santoku. It's light enough to work with through a 10 hour shift and then some. Be prepared to build a callus if you plan on using this knife that much, it will hurt at first, but once you get your hand broken in to the knife, it's a real treat. I have used this knife heavily, day in day out for 9 years, and have loved it every time I pull it out of the bag. It has been dropped more times than I'd like to admit, and has even lost a chunk from the handle, but the blade is still razor sharp after a quick swipe on the steel. This is a must have for me, and I would strongly recommend this knife for anyone, no matter your knife skill level, worth it

Nice knife!
I've been wanting a knife like this so when I saw this one marked down I decided to finally take the plunge. It's a really good knife, sharp and chops things up really well. My only disappointment was everything I'd read about this style of knife is the little ""pockets"" down the edge of the knife are supposed to keep food from sticking to the knife as you cut. This doesn't seem to work with this particular one. Food sticks to the knife as I'm slicing or dicing just as much as they do with my french chef. Not sure if it is this particular brand

"Wusthof 7"" Santoku Knife"
I have always wanted a Santoku knife and when this one went on special, I went to the store to see it. I loved it and bought it. The price was so good, I got another as a Christmas gift. When I used the knife, I liked it so much, I went online and bought a third one as a gift. The price was amazing for such a high quality knife, shipping was free, and it came in no time! I was highly satisfied with my experience in both the store and online, not to mention to knife itself

"Not for small hands - hard, unshaped handle"
I bought this high quality, expensive knife at an earlier sale and wish I had exchanged it. The quality is very good and not the issue - it's the handle. It's hard plastic (?), unshaped that does not fit my hand! It rolls out and wobbles and it's dangerous to use when your hands get wet. You can't keep a grip on it. (I'm a tall woman, but I have small hands.)
I'm a serious home cook w/ years of experience and with decent to v good knife skills. I find I revert back to a very cheap, but good quality chef's knife I've had for over 37-years of marriage. Wish I could find that brand again and buy more of theses for my kids

Amazing Knife
The 5 inch knife is the best knife I have owned. Its very light yet amazing for cutting all kinds of vegetables. The blade is very sharp. Thanks Sur la Table Santana Row store for allowing me to experiment the different knives to see one which fits best for me.

Front line knife
If you only have three knives in your kitchen it would be my opinion that this should be one of them! I call it a vegetable cleaver and and it works wonders. Something about how the blade sits in relation to the handle and leaves plenty of room for my hand curled around it makes it super comfortable to use. Well-balanced with good heft this knife is a great addition to any kitchen.
