Replacement gasket for Fido glass jars
These gaskets fit all my Fido jars and I have many sizes. The diameter is 3.5". When you put them on the glass lid you have to stretch them a bit, but they fit so don't give up. Keep some spares around. I fermented something that had lots of garlic. I could not get the smell out of it no matter what I did. It went in the trash and I replaced it.

What other sizes are available?

The product description says: ""Available in a variety of sizes for an assortment of foods."" However, it appears that there is only one size that is being sold here. I am looking for the next larger size with inside diameter of about 3.75"" and outside of about 4.75. I see canisters that take this size sold a lot, but I haven't been able to find the replacement gasket. What are the other sizes available? If they are not carried in stock as a regular product, can they be special ordered
A shopper on Sep 20, 2012
Best Answer: The description that we have on the website is more of a description of the jars than the gaskets. The package of 6 contains all one size: 3 1/2 inch.We are now carrying another gasket by the name of Le Parfait that offers 2 additional sizes.85 mm (3.5 inches)70mm (2.75 inches)100 mm (3.94 inches

Are the gaskets reusable when the jars and gaskets are used for canning?
A shopper on Jun 20, 2011
Best Answer: Yes, the gaskets are reusable. You'll want to have a few extra on hand just in case. Over time the rubber can begin to break down and the little splits and cracks that develop in them over time are essentially dry rot. Your jars will then no longer give you a perfect seal and will cause food spoilage. You'll get a few years of use out them and replacement gaskets are relatively inexpensive

I need a gasket that is 3 3/8" inner diameter and approx 4.5" outer diameter. What is recommended replacement?
A shopper on Apr 21, 2015
Best Answer: I just measured a new gasket at a cold temperature. I come up with an inner measurement of three (3) inches and an outer measurement of three and one half (3.5) inches. This might work if you heated it in very warm water and stretched it out to fit onto your container.

Do you ship to Canada?
Lyla Reid on Sep 5, 2014
Best Answer: At this time, we are unable to process international orders placed over the web or over the phone. Our international shipping charges are determined by the destination of the items and the dimensional weight of the box, and do not include any taxes or duty that may be applied upon reaching their destination. We do need a credit card with a United States billing address, otherwise a money order in U.S. funds must be sent for the amount of the order. Please note that tariffs, customs, and/or duties may be due upon delivery of your package. These additional charges are the responsibility of the package recipient.

How long should these gaskets last, or how often should one change them

I found little critters in my rice. Is it because the gaskets are too old? The jar obviously isn't airtight any more. Thanks for your reply.
A shopper on Dec 21, 2013
Best Answer: For best results, replace your gaskets about every 2 to 3 years
