I love popcorn - and by that I mean *real* popcorn, not the overly greasy, always-tastes-burnt-or-stale microwave stuff. White Cat is, simply, popcorn at its best. It's slightly sweet, like fresh summer corn should taste. It pops up crunchy, and nearly twice as big as grocery store brands. Delicious
I'm a runner, and popcorn is my ""Go To"" snack. I eat it in the evenings 3-4 times a week. I've tried several different brands and varieties of popcorn, and White Cat is by far my favorite. It's sweet, slightly nutty, and always melts in my mouth (not chewy). I usually cook it in organic expeller pressed coconut oil and top with a little salt or my favorite seasoning. I recently introduced my children to it, and that was a mistake because now they ask for it all the time. The only complaint I have is it's a little pricey, but in this case I think you get what you pay for
I love Sur La Table. The last time I was there for my kitchen gadget fix, the girl there discussed with me how all popcorn is not created equally.
I love hearing about the potential advantages of one product over the other, but am a born skeptic and really like to quantify and validate claims.
I took home this $8 jar of popcorn and put it to the test. Using identical heat, cooking methods and oil, I cooked one table spoon of this popcorn compared to the generic brand I from the boy scouts. The results were amazing. Much more volume and lighter popcorn. See the attached picture to see for yourself
I bought this after posting a rave review of another popcorn online. A woman recommended this stuff and said that her daughter said it was even better than the other kind I had recommended. So I was eager to try it! Daughter and I are both popcorn lovers and we've tried many brands.
I popped this corn like I always do, in a pan and noticed that I did not get the volume that I get with other popcorns. Only two old maids but it sure didn't pop up as much.
I found the texture to be quite tough. And the taste was just horrid. Reminds me of Kettle Korn which I hate. It was so sweet that I still have the sweet taste in my mouth and I ate a little of it over an hour ago. Normally popcorn is something I can't resist. I only took a small bowl and couldn't bring myself to eat it. Daughter wouldn't eat hers either beyond the first few bites. She said she didn't like it either.
I am sad now because I bought three jars. We won't be eating any more of this stuff. It has no corn taste at all. Just a sweet taste. The cheap stuff from the grocery store tastes better than this. :
This popcorn is not especially wonderful. Coming from the midwest, I'm partial to Orville Redenbacher (local boy!) Popped corn was chewy and a bit tough. Lots of spinsters left over. I'm sticking with Orville.
This is great tasting popcorn and hard to find. My family has celiac disease and they can enjoy this lovely popping corn with no ill side effects and we have not had any broken teeth on un-popped kernels. Fluffy and nutritious and I believe it to be non- GMO
how long will popcorn kernels stay fresh in the jar?
and is there a best place to store the jar to insure freshness?

Best Answer:White Cat Corn™ is known for its sweet corn taste, light and crunchy texture, popping large and fluffy kernels of premium gourmet popcorn. Rated ''one of the best'' by The Washington Post food writer, White Cat Corn™ is the premium gourmet popcorn in the United States. If kept sealed this popcorn will remain fresh in the jar for 3 years. It should be stored in a cool dry location and not in the refrigerator as this can act as a dehumidifying agent and draw moisture from the popcorn.
Are the popping corn kernals genetically modified and what kind of treatment if any have the plants been given (e.g. furtilizer)?

Best Answer:The ingredients list for this popcorn lists only one ingredient: White Cat Corn Popping Corn. I also contacted the company to be sure. Jim Burkett from White Cat Corn Customer Service assures me that White Cat popcorn is not genetically modified.
