Very happy!
I have had the Classic for 4 years and use it every day for a morning cappuccino. My husband who's idea it was to get the machine drinks straight espresso. Both of us give the machine a big A+. He loves the espresso shorts he can ""pull"" and for me the frothing is easy and quick. The stainless steel body is holding up perfectly and I can't say enough good about it. Two friends have purchased Classics since I have had mine and they are also very happy

Why did you choose this?
Sur La Table Store
Espresso is a necessity in life.
John K on May 31, 2015
Reviews states that this is one of the best values for a semi-automatic espresso machine. Was also considering the Breville but it was not included in the 20% off promo coupon, so went with Gaggia.

I chose it because Kate and Andre were interested in having one!

What do they mean by exposure to lead if you use this machine?
A shopper on Jan 5, 2015
Best Answer: I don't know if I can thoroughly answer your question. In California, Prop 65 protects consumers from buying products that could potentially expose us to lead unknowingly and mandates that products be labeled if there is even a slight chance of lead exposure. (We have this warning on balsamic vinegar too due to the containers it is produced in.) In the Gaggia Classic, I believe that some of the parts that water passes through have the potential of lead exposure. In the manual, it states that prior to using your espresso maker each time you need to dispense 150 ml (I believe that is the right amount) of water before actually making your coffee. It states that THAT water is not safe to drink. My guess is the water that is exposed to the parts containing lead is discarded and fresher (and safer) water is used by doing this. I have had my machine for a few weeks now and love it...but I ALWAYS dispense water prior to using and put fresh water in the tank before making my espresso. Hope this helps!
