Very happy!
I have had the Classic for 4 years and use it every day for a morning cappuccino. My husband who's idea it was to get the machine drinks straight espresso. Both of us give the machine a big A+. He loves the espresso shorts he can ""pull"" and for me the frothing is easy and quick. The stainless steel body is holding up perfectly and I can't say enough good about it. Two friends have purchased Classics since I have had mine and they are also very happy

Awesome Machine
This is my second unit. I lost the prior one in a forest fire that took my home. I loved it so much that I ordered another one before I even have a home to live in. I would recommend this espresso machine!!!

Defective
Something wrong with the boiler and it leaked and sprayed water when I was priming. Really disappointed, but Sur La Table was terrific about processing the return. With such a major defect I am unsure about re-ordering and wasting my time.

Does the trick
Nice upgrade from my previous espresso machine. Only quibble is that it tends to drip water so find myself wiping up random drops of water on a regular basis.

After spending hours scouring the web for information about the best espresso machines I settled on this this one for very specific reasons. 3 way solenoid (No Messy Puck), Commercial Brew Group and 58mm Portafilter and just so happens to pair perfectly with my Gaggia MDF Burr Grinder.

Gift for daughter. Made it Europe so I'm hoping it will be of solid quality. Allows use of any type of espresso so you don't have to use the not so environmentally friendly pods.

Reviews states that this is one of the best values for a semi-automatic espresso machine. Was also considering the Breville but it was not included in the 20% off promo coupon, so went with Gaggia.

I researched affordable espresso machines and this one came out on top review after review. I am upgrading from a Cuisinart espresso maker that died after 4 years. I have read that these easily last 10-15 years and that parts can pretty easily be replaced if needed. The quality of the espresso it puts out (assuming you have a good coffee to start with) is apparently top notch.
Dawnn V on Dec 15, 2014
High quality, non-automatic unit. I wanted something simple and don't mind grinding my own beans, frothing my milk, etc. This machine will hopefully fit the bill.

How does the gaggia classic expose you to lead? It sounds unsafe.
A shopper on Apr 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This espresso machine contains a brass boiler.
What do they mean by exposure to lead if you use this machine?
A shopper on Jan 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I don't know if I can thoroughly answer your question. In California, Prop 65 protects consumers from buying products that could potentially expose us to lead unknowingly and mandates that products be labeled if there is even a slight chance of lead exposure. (We have this warning on balsamic vinegar too due to the containers it is produced in.) In the Gaggia Classic, I believe that some of the parts that water passes through have the potential of lead exposure. In the manual, it states that prior to using your espresso maker each time you need to dispense 150 ml (I believe that is the right amount) of water before actually making your coffee. It states that THAT water is not safe to drink. My guess is the water that is exposed to the parts containing lead is discarded and fresher (and safer) water is used by doing this. I have had my machine for a few weeks now and love it...but I ALWAYS dispense water prior to using and put fresh water in the tank before making my espresso. Hope this helps!
Why does this item take so long to process and ship? It said that the item was in stock and ready to ship.
Nicole K on Feb 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Mine came from Italy : ) I got it within 3 weeks, I believe. It was a gift to my husband. He loves it!
What espresso machines do you have in stock in your Burlington, MA store?
A shopper on Oct 3, 2015
BEST ANSWER: We don't carry any of the Gaggia machines in store, as they're shipped by the vendor.
Where is the machine made? The web page says Italy on the description and Romania in the specs at the bottom. It is a bit misleading
A shopper on Nov 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It is now made in Romania. That is what is stated on the box of the machine we received a few weeks ago.
is the boiler aluminum?
patrick t on Nov 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: A web site says boiler is aluminum. Only should be a corrosion issue if you have very hard water. We have had ours for over a year and it has been a pleasure to use.
In 2015, Gaggia introduced a new model, with various changes (no solenoid valve, stainless water heater instead of aluminum, etc.). Are you selling the older model or the post-2015 model?
A shopper on May 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have bought two of the Gaggia Classic espresso machines in the last eight or so months and am happy with both. Sur La Table therefore assumes I can answer this question, but I cannot. It is a "technical" question about the product that only some Sur La Table employee might know the answer to.
