Wonderful Product
I love this processor. I bought it to replace my old, smaller Cuisinart that died after 25 years of faithful service. This one is bigger, stronger, faster and the components are dishwasher safe. Plus I like the stainless steel base. I'm looking forward to another 25 years!

It makes everything easy
I got this to replace an old blender I was using to make smoothies and hummus. The motor is is wonderfully strong and as the other reviews stated, it is super easy to use and clean.
I considered getting a smaller capacity model and am very happy I got the largest one. I no longer have to mix in batches. It works for everything except really small volume mixing. I will happily use my hand mixer for making pesto and salad dressings.
I love this mixer and highly recommend it.

Poor Customer Service, Arrived Not working
This item arrived not working, but I had already gotten rid of the box/packing slip. I emailed sur la table about it and they said I should return the product on my own, which will probably cost $30 or more. If I had changed my mind, that would be one thing but since it arrived not functioning I would think they would pay to ship it back. I can't tell you how it works since I received a faulty one, so this is really a review of Sur La Table.

is this compatible with the old version?

I have the classic version with accessories. I see that people say this is BPA free- thinking the old accessories may not be? they look the same on the picture but wonder if i should just get rid of it all. Any reason to keep old accessories? blades? the motor is going.. very rough sounding and sometimes sticks.. time to replace. thanks for any info. the old one i have is pro 11.
A shopper on Feb 20, 2014
Best Answer: According to Cuisinart Customer Service, the 11 cup you currently own is not BPA free, and the parts would not be compatible with the newer 14 cup model. It sounds like you'd be better of replacing it

In the dimensions, which is the height? Also is this the same one reviewed in Jan 2016 Cook's Illustrated which Includes "Custom" in the description? Thank You.
Emily T on Dec 22, 2015
Best Answer: The height is the largest number. I think it says 14.5", though mine measures at least 15".
I believe it is the same one as the one reviewed in the January 2016 Cook's Illustrated issue.

Can I use this to make salsa?
Erik S on Dec 21, 2015
Best Answer: Yes, but it depends on how pretty you want your salsa to be. If you want perfectly chopped fresh salsa where the onion, jalapeño, and tomato are all evenly diced you'll need to use a knife. If you're making a salsa that will be roasted or cooked, the food processor is fine. Check the directions on your salsa recipes. The processor will chop somewhat evenly if you pulse it, but depending on how ripe your tomatoes are it may puree them more than chop them.

Which discs are included?
A shopper on Dec 7, 2014
Best Answer: The discs that were included with my 14 cup unit were the slicing and the grating discs. The is a metal chopping blade and a dough (plastic) blade also. I will seek extra slicing blades because I make sauerkraut in very large batches. I like the unit.

what is the measurement between the outside edge of the shredding and slicing blades and the side of the work bowl? Do vegetables like carrots get fully shredded or do you end up with lots of large pieces that fall into the work bowl?
A shopper on Jun 5, 2015
Best Answer: I am not at the house that has this unit, but I understand exactly what you mean. To prevent this you should use the smaller inner tube, or for larger quantities fill the larger tube. If you dump the carrots in at all angles, this problem may occur.
I used mine to shred Cabbage in large quantities for sauerkraut. When it is full, it lifts the blade a little and sounds different. When this happens I dump it out. and start over. It didn't spill a significant amount into the inner channel (for the bade power, nor out side. This motor didn't over heat like my earlier model Cuisinart. I feel that the have improved the interlock system that I considered a weak point of the earlier model.

Is there a different bowl size available for this food processor?
Julie S on Sep 27, 2015
Best Answer: I don't know if there's a different bowl size for this processor. The bowls snap into predetermined slots, so I think you have to go with the bowl that comes with the machine. The Cuisinart does come in a variety of sizes though. I had a smaller model and moved up to the 14-cup size and have been very happy.

I need to replace my DLC7 Pro, but have many discs that I want to use with a new machine. (My extra fine coconut shredding disc isn't available anymore.) Will the DLC7 Pro discs (6 3/8" diameter) work with this DFP-14BCN machine?
Donna C on Dec 20, 2014
Best Answer: I have owned dozens of various 14 cup Cuisinarts over the last 20 years or so and have found the dlc7 series blades to be completely interchangeable on every single model. I in fact continue to buy 14 cuppers so I can continue to use my collection of blades.

I have a 14-cup DFP-14BC and the am frustrated that there is no way to remove the small push tube and the large push tube without removing the entire push tube assembly. Hence, you have to remove the entire push tube mechanism (small & large push tubes together) with the whole tube assembly anytime I want to shred or slice a a large vegetable. Do the replacement parts have the same configuration? I notice on the newer machines that they have changed this so you can remove just the tube and not an entire assembly.
A shopper on Oct 24, 2014
Best Answer: I'm not familiar with how to disassemble this food processor, so for quick reference, I've provided a link to all available replacement parts on the Cuisinart website:

What is the minimum amount of food I can put into the bowl for pulsing?
A shopper on Dec 27, 2015
Best Answer: The pulser is low to the bottom of the processor. You would not need to put in much... Perhaps a cup of food for it to work.
