Does the 13-inch length include the handles?

I have a small side oven on my range. Most smaller roasting pans don't fit simply because of the handles. After purchasing one with the correct measurements, I discovered the measurement was only for the pan portion and did not include the extra length the handles add.Thank you

Best Answer: Capitalizing on our familiarity with the world’s top cookware, we selected the best features for our own distinctive roasters. Top and bottom layers of gleaming stainless steel encapsulate a middle layer of pure aluminum to create cookware with quick and even heat distribution. Riveted stay-cool stainless-steel handles are curved for maximum comfort and efficiency. This pan measures 9 X 13 without the handles. With the handles it measures 9 X 15 3/4. Hand wash.

Is it possible to use this pan to deglaze on an induction cooktop

Best Answer: Capitalizing on our familiarity with the world’s top cookware, we selected the best features for our own distinctive roasters. Top and bottom layers of gleaming stainless steel encapsulate a middle layer of pure aluminum to create cookware with quick and even heat distribution. Riveted stay-cool stainless-steel handles are curved for maximum comfort and efficiency. This pan has got the raised section in the middle which unfortunately makes in incompatable to an induction stove top. In order for a pan to work on an induction top it has to not only be magnatized, which this item is, but it also has to have a completely flat surface, which this item does not.

We do have a few other options in the way of roasting pans that you would be able to deglaze on an induction top. Mauviel makes a couple of roasting pans that have a nice flat even surface. I will attach a few suggestions to this answer.

What will happen to the pan if it is heated in the oven beyond the warranteed 500 degrees?

Is there a problem if the temperature goes slightly (50 degrees) over the 500?
A shopper on Jan 13, 2012
Best Answer: Seattle-based Sur La Table has kept its finger on the pulse of America’s cooks since opening its doors in 1972 at Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market. Since then, chefs and home cooks with a taste for adventure have flocked to the culinary mecca.

A destination for iconic chefs such as Julia Child, Jacques Pepin, Martha Stewart and Mario Batali, Sur La Table entices aficionados and curious beginners alike with its amazing selection of cookware and tools.

There shouldn't be any problem with using this pan a little over (50 degrees) 500.

Would you consider this a small roaster?

We have a roaster that's approx. 13"" x 16"", which we love, but when we only want to roast a chicken by itself, it seems to burn in such a large pan all alone. Would you consider this a perfect size for just a small roasting chicken? Thanks..

This roaster is a much better size for small roasting chickens. It is also great for pork loins/roasts and casseroles.

Can you use this on top of a regular gas stove?

some recipes, after you roast the chicken, say to cook the juices in the pan on the stove top. Want to make sure it is safe to do this before I buy. thanks

Best Answer: Oven safe to 500°F and it is able to be used on the stovetop to create wonderful sauces and gravies from the drippings and juices.
