Finally found the best!!!
I tell everyone that this is a great set of cookware. I'm a cook that can take up to a year to select something like a coffeemaker. You can be sure that I research and studied for longer than that before deciding which cookware to buy. I wanted to upgrade from what I was using to the best that I could get. I was decided on All Clad and went to Sur La Table to get it because I knew that I could start with a small set then add on as I liked. Sur La Table can be counted on to carry a line of products for a long time. When I finally went in to purchase All Clad the salesperson and I chatted for a while about the various benefits of all the top brands. She then asked me if I had looked at SLT brand. I said that I was just sure I wanted All Clad. She asked me to just try the handles. What? She set up a side but side comparison (This is what I love about SLT -- great people!) to just lift the 10inch skillets by the handles. I'm 57 years old and my wrists, though experienced with lots of cooking, are just not as durable as they used to be. I lifted the AC pan with it's straight handle. The edge of the handle pressed into the underside of my palm most painfully. I lifted the SLT skillet. The ergonomically designed handle was an easy lift AND the skillet stays flat, not tipped up, as the AC skillet did. I asked questions about the triply bonding and the full allum. core of the SLT and I was sold. I bought the small set and am adding as I go. My only complaint is that I hope SLT adds as many variety of pieces as AC has because I'll be buying them. I LOVE THESE POTS! Clean up with green scrubbies, hand dry and hang on a pot rack where you can enjoy them all the time. They are beautiful as well a functional

These pots scratch VERY easily
While the pots and pans cook *beautifully*, I was very disappointed to discover how easily the outside of the pots can get scratched. I used a measuring spoon to add pesto to a a pot of pasta, tapped the spoon against the side of the pot and it left three little dents. I used RevereWare for years and that NEVER happened. I've only had my set for about a month, and after only one or two normal uses (heating up soup, cooking eggs, making pasta) several of the pots are scratched on the outside.

Apparently, this is ""normal"" with stainless steel pots, but given how expensive they are, I'm surprised by how fragile they are.

I highly recommend Bar Keeper's Friend to clean the pots. It's inexpensive and works like a charm.

I would choose this set again, especially over All-Clad, because the heat evenly and easily, and my food NEVER sticks to the pain, but the scratches and dings are big disappointment

Compete with the best.
I was searching for replacement cookware after cleaning house of odd pots and pans. Wanting to purchase the best I automatically looked at all-Clad and found Su La Table. The price and quality can't be beat. Best move I've made this year. Highly recommend this product.

Who needs All-Clad?
I purchased these when I moved into my new place and I absoltely love them. Very easy to clean, oven and dishwasher safe. Certain types of foods stick but that's why they make non-stick pans. I've cooked fish on this and it gives it a really nice sear. I've also cooked 2 whole rack of lambs on the 15inch skillet and it came out perfect

Love these pans!
We received these as a wedding gift and we use them every single day! They cook beautifully and clean up easily. I can't think of anything I would change about these wonderful pans.

Great Cookware
I wanted to finally buy a set of stainless steal cookware. I was using the $50 set I had in college that was degrading every time I used it. I agonized over the decision to buy All-Clad or go with a different brand. I decided on Sur la Table's stainless steel cookware because it was more affordable and I felt like I could trust their brand.

I have been extremely happy with my decision. They have a great aesthetic, not that that means they cook better but they really do look great, and that is kind of nice if they are setting around your kitchen. They have good even heating qualities that tri-ply stainless should give you. I love the big handles, they really are exceptionally nice. They stay cool (as advertised) and are easy to grip and move pots and pans around.

I would highly recommend this brand, so far I have been very happy

Couldn't be better
My anodized calphalon cookware was starting to degrade, so I spent a long time researching cookware that was safe with the ability to satisfy a finicky cook. I was so impressed with them I bought the 13 piece set for my daughter. The only down-side is when I went to purchase a set for my nephew and found both the 9 piece and 13 piece were no longer available! Please being them back, or something equivalent

My sauce pan has a cloudy film on the inside. What can I clean them with?

That film you are seeing is a very common occurence, especially especially after cooking a protein. If yo use a little yellow mustard and a soft cloth or a small amount of white vinegar that should restore your cookware to its previous beautiful stainless steel shine

For the 9 piece tri-ply set, can I buy glass lids for the set I own
A shopper on Jan 13, 2012
Best Answer: We do not currently offer lids sold seperatly for the Tri-ply set. We do carry some ScanPan glass lids in a variety of sizes that might work with the pieces in your set. I have attached they product below. They are glass lids that allow you to monitor food while it cooks. Stainless-steel rim prevents cracks and chips. Lid can even be used in the oven up to 500°F to finish dishes. Fits perfectly with your Scanpan cookware. Features a Bakelite heat-resistant knob. Dishwasher safe. Made in Denmark.

Does either lid fit the skillet?

I.e. does the lid from the 3-qt. covered saute' pan or the 6-qt. covered stockpot fit the skillet too? Also there is a 7"" steamer that says it fits the 2-qt. saucepan, but there is a steamer included with the 9-piece set which also has only the 1.5 and 3-qt. pans, so can it work with these or is it a totally different size
A shopper on Dec 3, 2011
Best Answer: The skillet does not usually come with a lid. The closest you would get to a possible fit would be the Saute Pan Lid, however it will not fit securely. The 7"" steamer is designed for the 2qt saucepan only. This 9 piece set does not include a steamer. It comes with the 1_-QUART AND 3_-QUART COVERED SAUCEPANS, the 10"" Open Skillet, # Quart Covered Saucepan and the 6 Quart Covered Stockpot

Does the Sur La Table tri-ply cookware make a ""humming"" sound ( or any sound) when being used on an induction cooktop

I""ve read reviews about other quality cookware that did make this noise -- and rather loudly. The Sur la Table cookware has captured my full attention, but if it is noisy while being used on induction top, I would not buy it. Thanks for your time

I have never received a complaint that this cookware makes any kind of a sound when used on an induction cooktop. I have used this cookware on the induction top that we have here and have never noticed anything myself. It is a great set at a great value.
