What a let down
Ok so looks can deceiving, this grinder looks great but is lacking in performance. Al first glance it has everything that I wanted, once I got it home and looked deeper it was a different story. The burrs on this grinder and puny and are not conical or stainless steel. The bean hopper has to be bumped when the beans get low to feed them and you cannot remove it for cleaning. Lastly and most annoying is the cleaning. I have had this grinder for 3 days and ground coffee 3 times, when I cleaned the chute I found about 9 tablespoons of coffee stuck in there and a ton of coffee dust. I mean what a waste.

Ok on to the good bean hopper is large and the catch bin locks in and make very little messuntil you clean it. Wide variety of grind setting and an on/off button and grind timer. This grinder looks great in your kitchen and is fairly quiet. Lastly the cord storage makes moving it and storage fantastic.
Overall the cons out weigh the pros in this case and would suggest that anyone looking at this grinder should look at other options

"Gives a good grind, but breaks often"
I purchased this grinder less than 1 year ago. When it works, it produces a very even grind, and the coffee is great. However, the equipment seems to be made poorly, and I am now sending the grinder back to Capresso for a second time. About 4 months ago the motor died and had to be replaced. Now the wiring has gone bad and the start button no longer works. At least this second failure was still within warranty; the next time it breaks (6 or so months from now) I'll be on the market for another grinder (from a different company).

Although this is an affordable burr grinder that looks nice, I warn against buying it unless you want a grinder that continually breaks down

There's quite a price range of the burr grinders in my budget (up to $149). What makes the more costly ones better? Many thanks for the help!

BEST ANSWER: The costlier ones typically have better grinders (like ceramic instead of metal) and can keep your grinds cool so they don't burn while grinding. Other great features are more grind settings, larger capacity and the ability to measure how much coffee you have ground.
