I used to have one of the little metal things to pit cherries, but no more! This makes quick work of what used to be a painful job. Now I buy cherries whenever I find them in the store and make so many different dishes with them. Or just eat them as a snack. This is a great pitter for the price
I received this as a gift and love it! If you have ever made a cherry pie or jam without one, I feel for you. Even though it has a shield, do wear an apron to avoid the occasional ricochet or squirt. The tool comes unlocked in the drawer easier than I'd like, but that is such a minor gripe
Every year we get amazing Colorado cherries from our CSA. Every year I wish I had a cherry pitter, but it is always after I start pitting! When I saw this just prior to cherry season, I was eager to give it a try!
Best Answer:Hello: I do not know if it's made in black plastic. I don't remember if it was an option when I ordered it. Red is an accent color in my kitchen and the OXO pitter is a really good design. I'm very pleased with it and it is by far the BEST cherry pitter I've ever had.
Ken, Thank you very much for taking the time to reply. You have nothing to be embarrassed about. It's easy to miss the option for red or black. If I had not watched the video, I'd never have known. I really do appreciate that you were thoughtful enough to spend time answering my question and the additional effort to respond to my reply. Thank you again. Shelley
