Wonderful
Truly amazing flavor. Regardless of cooking or with sushi and fresh fish, this Soy Sauce is the best I have tasted. It brings out the flavor of food. Thanks Sur La Table for great products like this one, I am hooked

Well Worth the Price! Can't beat this one!
I am not a Fancy Shmancy Type of Guy but I do love food and good tastes. I was never a fan of soy sauce but once I tasted this I was awe struck. I have since tried it with every imaginable dish and it has given depth to them all without overwhelming the original taste of each dish. This will make you a Hero in your kitchen. I have priced this on numerous sites and Sur La Table with free shipping I save $11.50 on shipping if I order 4 ea. of the 12 oz. size. Use Promo freeship The bottles are individually wrapped and make wonderful gifts to people you love. You will not be disappointed with this Soy Sauce. Pure Gold!

Wonderful for dipping and more
As others have said, this soy sauce is fantastic for cooking. It's full flavor really shines when paired with sushi or used as a dip with tempura or gyoza. High quality stuff - the bottle is absolutely gorgeous... so much so I hesitated to take the wrapping off for some time!

It's like a little bottle of Japan. If you use soy sauce, esp. for dipping, do yourself a favor and pick this up. It's a joy to use and eat with!

Never disappointed
If you use soy sauce, this soy sauce is a must have. Not overpoweringly salty like the store bought soy sauce and the taste is so much smoother and mellow.

Could Just About Drink This Out of the Bottle
It's that good. Thank you to the sales lady some years ago who sashayed over wielding rice and this soy sauce. It's the only time I've ever been very, very glad to be ""accosted"" by a sales person. Makes even humble rice something amazing

It's good but I'm not sure it's worth the extra money. It has no nutritional (in English) information on the bottle label. I suspect that salt is through the roof.

I recently heard an interview with Kristin Chen and was inspired to finally try a true single-batch artisan soy sauce. This brand is said to be her favorite, so it seems like a good first try.

BEST ANSWER: Yes. This artisan shoyu or soy sauce is made from the finest quality whole soybeans, wheat and sea salt, fermented in 100-year-old barrels for one full year. The slow fermentation process results in a pure, wonderfully flavored sauce with no preservatives or additives.

BEST ANSWER: I recommend that you DO NOT purchase this wonderful product from Sur la table unless you want to be plagued with numerous unwanted emails. May I suggest Dean & Deluca or Chef Shop. Sur la table will not discontinue sending me numerous emails after multiple attempts to opt out and customer service complaints. Mostly wanting me to review this product. As for the sodium content, the label is written in Japanese. The English label is small and illegible. It does not taste salty - just richer than other brands - delicious.
Would this same as double black soy sauce?

BEST ANSWER: Kishibori South is not considered to be a double black soy sauce. It is a naturally fermented Japanese soy sauce that has wonderful mellow flavor without the strong saltiness or chemical aftertaste found in more commercially produced products.
