What are the advantages or disadvantages of a double serrated bread knife?

Best Answer: Double serrated knives are great because they make a much cleaner cut in dense breads like sourdough, crusty breads like French baguettes & soft fruits like ripe avocados & tomatoes with very little downward pressure.
A disadvantage would be that it will be more difficult to sharpen than a traditional knife & may require professional sharpening.
