Sturdy and disposable!
Perfect size and wide enough for a range of baking and culinary uses.

I used a hot filling in my bags and they held up fine

How does the tip attach to the bag? In the picture, it looks like the tip is simply inserted into the small opening of the bag through the large opening and just placed there without securing it before filling the bag with icing. Is that right? It seems like the icing would flow around the tip and come out where it's not supposed to.

BEST ANSWER: You are correct. The bags come with a closed end, I use a size 10 tip, placed in the big opening and work it down near the tip. I use a pair of scissors to cut across the tip of the bag, creating a small opening. Always best to start small, for example only 1/4-1/2 and inch from the pointed end of the bag, and then cut a second time higher if you need to make the opening bigger. The opening should be large enough so that approximately 1/2 inch of the tip shows through. You can ensure the tip is set tight in the end against the opening and you won't have any problems with frosting or batter flowing around it where it is not meant to.
