Great size for small family
I love my mini food processor. Its small size makes it perfect for prepping meals for just me and my husband. It's great that I can easily store it in my cupboard and easily pull it out for use instead of the oversized and heavy versions. The pieces are easy to take apart and clean.

"Handy, but not as Good as the Real Thing"
This is convenient to use when precision isn't particularly important. It is a nice and much lighter alternative than whipping out my full size Cuisinart Food Processor, but it leave a lot to be desired.

It's not quite as good as a blender for purees, nor is it particularly well suited to teh even chopping that my big Cuisinart can handle. It also doesn't really hold all that much in terms of volume. That being said, a quick garlic puree, pesto, or chimmichurry sauce is easy enough to achieve with this baby, but for now my chunky salsas will be left to the Pro

Smoke?
My first time using this product after purchasing it from Sur La Table, smoke started coming out of where the top screws into the base within twenty seconds of pressing "chop"! I was chopping butter and 2 cups of cornmeal together--not too much for a 4 c. capacity food processor. SMOKE? My entire kitchen reeked of burnt plastic for a day.

OK for small jobs
I have the 3 quart which was too small and I have the little one which is perfect for very small jobs. I thought the 4 quart would be able to do everything I need, but I still found it too small. It works perfectly but even when I just need to chop 2 apples, I have to stop and take out the first one an then put in the second. It holds 2 apples, but by the time the second one is chopped, the first is mush. I finally broke down and went to the Sur La Table store and bought the larger Cuisinart food processor with the wide chute and I just love it. It's so much faster. I cut two apples in half, drop them down the chute and done!

I have had 3 of these and love the 4 cup for convenience sake. The 3 cup is too small and many times I don't need the 8-9 cup processor
Maria B on May 8, 2015
I chose this processor because I like its size and that you can pop the container right into the dishwasher.
Michelle S on May 4, 2015
I have had the 3 cup size for years, but it broke. I figured 4 cups might be slightly more useful.

MARY H on Jan 5, 2015
My 3 cup processor is about one cup too small for the tasks I need it to do, plus the plastic around the blade is cracking.
susan s on Jan 5, 2015
Because I have the very large version of this, and while it works wonderfully, it is heavy and a huge pain in the butt when I just want to chop nuts or something small.

can pie crust dough be made in the cuisinart mini food processor?
A shopper on Feb 21, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Pie crust dough can be made in this food processor, but it would most likely need to be done in batches, as the capicity is so small
Can I use this food processor to make salad dressing?
A shopper on Sep 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I believe there would be no problem making salad dressing. You might add/mix the liquid portion(s) first, then add chopped items last, so they retain their bulk or shape and don't become completely pulverized or liquified. This food processor work very quickly

Is it relatively quiet?

BEST ANSWER: I have the two smaller ones and one larger. They seem to all have the same decibel level. It is kind of a high-pitched whirring but not irritating at all, at least not to me.
