Is this good for cooking tomato sauce? I like to put garlic, onion, carrot and celery in the sauce while it's cooking and then strain it out when it is finished.
A shopper on Oct 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: For straining soups or thicker sauces I would reccomend using a mesh sieve over the cheese cloth. Although it is great for straining stocks and broth, I would think it to be slow going and messy with tomato sauce. If you like a smooth sauce an immersion blender can be easy and quick, while producing a lovely smooth consistency.
