Excellent pot!
This pot is as close to perfect as a pot gets. It's sturdy, durable, functional, and flat out easy to use. The lids fit tightly to keep in moisture. The pot holds heat really well so I don't have to use high heat which means I don't burn my food. The enamel finish is tough and resists scratches and chips. The pot has large, comfortable handles which is important because it's heavy when you have it loaded with food.

I am vegan so only vegetables and grains go in my pot. That means I don't need a big pot. The 4 qt. size is ideal for me. I can cook nearly everything in this pot. It's a winner!

After washing there seems to be an iridescent film on the inside of the pot. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong?
cristina y on Sep 4, 2015
Best Answer: My Staub pots seem to have a film on them after you wash and dry them and it appears to be dirty but they are not. I have always followed their instructions as not to scrub them but let them soak first. I am not sure about the iridescent film. I know they say they have a pre-seasoned finish so you don't have to. I am going to try alittle oil to make them look better. I do use them for low slow cooking. Maybe you can contact a Staub rep. I really love the way they work and look! Good Luck- I hope I have been of some help. Wendy

Is the brass which contains lead only in the handle of the Staub cookware? I saw the warning in the description of the black round cocottes.
Thank you.
Jody on Aug 29, 2014
Best Answer: Yes, and the brass is only on the outside of the vessel. The screw which holds the handle to the lid, and is the only part of the handle exposed to the interior of the pot, is stainless steel. The brass handle doesn't come into contact with the food.
