Staub: So glad I waited to collect this iron
For years I've been wanting to collect an enameled suite of cast iron. I'm very partial to the burgundy and dark red, but the Le Creuset palette just didn't suit me. I stumbled onto Staub during my first visit to SLT. I instantly fell in love with the Grenadine!! I waited to do research, but I should've just asked my Omaha associate Aaron right away and I would've had my 6.5qt shallow cocotte much sooner. All of the features listed are true, but what they don't mention is that the loop handles are much wider than Le Creuset and are more ergonomically designed to fit your gloved hand better. The interior finish is just as amazing as the exterior and the heat retention is unmatched. I just held a garage sale and cleaned out my house, especially the kitchen so I will definitely purchasing more of this line. If you're looking for fire-engine red, buy the cherry. If you're partial to purple, the aubergine is for you. If you're like me and love ruby red slippers or a great glass of red wine, Grenadine is your color!

And let me just say Thank You to my Omaha store because when I was giving my cocotte its first bath and took off the stickers as I was instructed it damaged the finish (pretty sure I got a one-of-a-kind-lemon), I worked with Aaron and Ben and I had a new cocotte the very next day. I live 4 hours away!!! These guys are wonderful, knowledgeable, and helpful. SLT of Omaha just became my new favorite store

The best and most frequently used item in my Kitchen
These pots are amazing. We have a 5qt and a 9qt. From slow cooking and braising pork shoulders, briskets, and short ribs to making soups, greens, chicken dishes, these pots can handle pretty much anything.
If you're looking to cook tender meat dishes, there is nothing I've found better than these pots. The ability to go from high heat stove top to oven braising is great is very useful.

I have been wanting to purchase a new "Dutch oven" & in comparing this w/ the Le Cruset, I thought this was a superior product.

LOUIS B on Dec 10, 2015
It was a good price and appears from reviews to be a quality item. I have always wanted a Dutch oven. I also love the color.
Patricia W on Dec 7, 2015
Love the color. Have several other Staub pots and love each one. Looking for something a little smaller for everyday use.
Dana S on Dec 3, 2015
It is a gift for my family. The color is beautiful. The 7 quart size I've found big enough to do most any recipe. And the Staub brand seems to not burn stews on the bottom like some competing brands due to a thicker bottom. They've never really used a Dutch oven before and I think they'll love the amazing dishes you can make with a quality one like this.
Keith on Dec 1, 2015
Not only are these beautiful, cooking is a pleasure. They heat evenly and clean easily with soap and water. I don't put them in the dishwasher because I run the dishwasher once a week and I use these cooking vessels every day.
Mark W on Nov 24, 2015
I love that Staub really does the job and everything is cooked to perfection.

Celestino F on Sep 10, 2015
Hard time deciding on which Staub to get, it's my first and a lot of money to spend. Anniversary gift from my husband. Wanted this color, grenadine, which a competitor's online site did not offer. Cooking only for 2 at this time, 5.5 qt should be good size for us. 10% sale and free shipping helped.

Gorgeous color. We used this when I took cooking class at Sur La Table.
Rosanne M on Feb 5, 2015
I picked the 5.5 qt Staub cocotte because of the stellar reviews. I own several Le Creusets, but the lid on the Staub is unique that apparently it makes a big enough difference iwhen braising.

What are the dimensions for the 5 and 7 qt?
Michelle P on Feb 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Well, the NINE quart is 11.75 inches interior diameter at the top (with a slight taper to the bottom), and 5.25 inches deep. The packaging states, FYI, that the volume is 8.35 liters. It's a very nice item.

(I know you asked about the smaller sizes, but I only have the big one.)
What is the interior diameter of the 7 qt cocotte?
Christina H on Jul 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: 9 1/2".
weight of 5 qt ????

BEST ANSWER: 11or 12lbs
What is the difference between the Staub Cocoette and the Coq Au Vin? Not sure which one to get.
A shopper on Oct 24, 2015
BEST ANSWER: They are made the same way and will provide the same level of quality cooking. It really depends on how you think you will use them. The Coq au Vin is an oval shape - and will be a better fitting pan for poultry or oblong roasts where you might want a tight fit. But the other pan will work as well - as long as its big enough to fit what you want to cook. I own both and alter between them depending on what I am cooking. I hope that helps. I really think that these pans are great and well worth the investment.
