The ceraminc peeler is a must have in your kitchen. It peels carrots particularly well and you won't scrape off your knuckles like metal peelers sometimes do. It stays sharp forever. The only downside is that if you drop it, it will shatter so don't place it at the edge of the counter. I recently dropped mine and bought a inferior metal peeler to replace it and it was a huge waste of money. I am going back to the ceramic one...they are the best
I loved this peeler -- until I accidentally dropped it on my kitchen floor (linoleum tiled) and the ceramic part broke off, rendering it no longer usable. Sadness! Beware of $10 peelers that are made of ceramic
A great peeler, have not experienced the fragility others mentioned. I did have an issue with the plastic band on the upper side of the ceramic blade. It lifted a little when peeling cucumber, carrots or those old smaller limes with thin skin. The problem was remedied by putting a tiny amount of gorilla glue using a toothpick where the ceramic blade meets the plastic. Rock solid and peels like a champ now.
I have this peeler and it's awesome! It's easy, quick to peel potatoes, carrots and zucchini. I bought this one to give to my mom since she is using her old metal peeler from the 70s??? and my dad and I keep trying to find her a new one that is just as good!
