Who needs a regular oven?
I love this oven! I've made cookies, donuts, toasted my bagels and even baked a pie in it! Everything comes out perfect everytime. This is the best toaster oven on the planet. Period

Great... IF it worked
This oven has GREAT features. My problem is, that the one I used the most, teh toaster, didn't work. After about 6weeks of light use, the toaster stopped browning on the bottom, so I returned the item for replacement (Excellent customer service, by th way). The REPLACEMENT was used for about two weeks when the bottom elements AGAIN stopped browning my toast. This time, I returned it for a refund. Such a shame, as this is loaded with fine features. I'll simply not buy Breville agai

I love this product BUT....
I have had this oven for a little over a year and have loved it. One morning before Christmas I
am about to make toast and the elements do not work! Lights on, timer works, etc. Don't know what to do with it because we get the run-around with Breville. Do I send it back with no receipt? Will I ever see it again? Do I buy another one suspecting that it to will die away after a years use. Gets expensive! Help! Can I get a reply from someone

I love this oven!
Since I have purchased this oven about 6 months ago, a day rarely goes by that I don't use it! I've used just about all the settings, everything turns out perfect - ribeye steaks, a whole chicken, several homemade loaves of bread, cakes, cookies, brownies, puff pastry, pate choux, bacon, sausages, etc... oh, and even toast! I love the large area on top to keep your plates warm, and the amount of space in the oven. I've used silicone baking pans with no problem. Highly recommended

Wonderful
Unless you are cooking something big, you will go this little over for everything. It heats up fast, has a great collection of preset features and cooks at well as my viking range.

What is probably the most impressive feature is the size. It's compact, fits easily under my counter and leaves counter space in front of it for prep

"The Last ""Toaster/Oven"" You Will Ever Buy"
I totally agree with these other reviews. This is THE best toaster/oven ever. They really should just call it a countertop convection oven, as it practaically has replaced my full-size oven for all but really large items. The display is on the complex side, but once you get used to it, it's very easy to use/program

Love this oven!!!!
I got this as a gift, and I love it. I had not been a fan of toaster ovens because they don't seem to be reliable ovens or toast well. However, this one does a great job with both. It is a great alternative to a second built in oven since it is large enough to roast meat or bake a pie. Cooks remarkably evenly, and does a beautiful job on scones, cookies, bread, pies, and quiche. Also toasts bread, english muffins, bagels, and broils beautifully, too. Now that I have one, I don't think I can live without it

World's best toaster oven!
I love this toaster oven because it takes care of all my needs. The added function of a regular convection oven really saves me time...it is my extra oven! I have baked, toasted, roasted, broiled and reheated in this oven with great results every time. It's easy to use and clean and I love that it comes with a few pans that fit perfectly

extra oven
I bought this toaster oven last thanksgiving becauses I needed some extra oven space for all the baking I was going to be doing around thanksgiving and christmas. I can't believe how easy that little extra oven space made. It baked evenly and fast. I was able to keep tabs on it because the big window in the door made everything easy to see. I love it and I wouldn't trade it for anything. If you don't have the extra space to install another oven in your kitchen then this is the perfect option. All of the convienience but none of the cost or hassle.

So Much More
This oven replaced a B&D Spacemaker Toaster Oven. Although I was concerned that it might take up too much counter space, I was pleasantly surprised. It fit cozily in the corner and I've used it more than my big oven lately as it doesn't heat up the whole kitchen and is quite capable of handling any task. I love it

I purchased this for my parents and it is easily the best gift I have ever given them. Since it is just the two of them at home now, they use it instead of their oven, cooking almost everything they would normally use their big oven for

This is a REALLY smart oven!
Smart Oven in this case is an understatement. It toasts everything perfectly without guesswork and beeps to let you know it's ready and beeps again if you leave the door open! Wow! We haven't yet used it to bake but am looking forward to small batch cooking. Thank you, Breville, for a GENIUS oven

This is a lousy piece of junk
We bought our first Beville Smart Oven several years ago, and it seemed to work OK until suddenly nothing worked. It had apparently burned out a circuit board. We were told that it was beyond warranty, and that it would cost almost as much to ship it and get another board installed as it would be to get a new one. So, several months ago, we bought a new Smart Oven. It has worked well until suddenly we cannot set the timer. We are of the opinion that Breville has some serious quality control issues. We will never buy anything from Breville again. Fool me once, fool me twice?

This is so versatile. Its shocked me how often I actually use this. Completely replaced my toaster since I eat the longer loaves and it's a pain to toast twice, but not with this bad boy!

Love this oven!
This oven is perfect for so many things for which a full size oven is just 'overkill' and a waste of energy and time. I love the fact that when the timer runs down, the oven automatically shuts off. I have made cookies, pies, roasted chix breasts and veggies. The controls are easy to use. It comes with every pan you need. It cooks so evenly. My full size oven has not been turned on since I got this little gem

Fantastic Oven
I saw this reviewed by Cooks Country and after debating because of cost took the plunge. I bought the full size oven and can cook almost anything in it. I was concerned with the comments about heat from the top of the unit but I have found that there is more heat from the front of the unit - this is an oven after all. Took a bit getting used to putting things in and removing at counter height (watch those bare arms coming in contact with the door) but plan to move this from counter to table which will help. Overall, very happy with this oven. Heats in half the time of a standard oven and the auto oven off at end of cooking time is great for when I'm outside

Great gift!
Bought this for my other half on his birthday, and he loves it! I debated buying one of the smaller ovens, or the Cuisinart, but we're die hard Breville fans, and this was the most versatile size. So far he's used it for typical toaster oven stuff, but particularly enjoys it for making pizzas. Great deal for such a versatile and quality oven. And it looks great on the counter next to his Breville blender

Best toaster oven yet!
I have had toaster ovens since the '70s. They are indispensable no matter how many other ovens you have. Toaster ovens are designed to multi-task, not single-purpose and messy like toasters.
The Breville heats quickly to required temp and is very easy to keep clean.
This is by far the best toaster oven yet and it looks great in a kitchen full of stainless steel appliances

Can't live without this oven
I use this oven everyday. If a recipe calls for 40 minutes, the food is perfectly done in exactly 40 minutes. It is a lifesaver during the holidays when you need an extra oven. Easy to clean and heats quickly. I have the large size and it holds way more than any others I have used. I have used every setting on it and all have worked perfectly. Was a little worried about it breaking down because I had researched it and read about some problems, but I think they have been resolved because I have had mine a little over a year now and I'm not disappointed. So glad I got it.

Awesome Little Oven
I purchased this oven for my Wife for Christmas and felt guilty because I love it just as much as she does. Now it is a gift for the while family. It is so easy to use. My Mom already bought one out of Envy. So if you are thinking of getting one ...... do it. Oh yeah ... we already baked brownies in it.

Can you use standard cookware?

i.e. a standard 6 muffin cooking tin, only limited by size not material of cookware
A shopper on May 31, 2011
Best Answer: Innovative Elements IQ™ technology distributes 1800 watts of power among five quartz elements to cook various foods to perfection. Features intuitive dial controls, nine customizable presets and backlit screen. Rack auto-ejects halfway when oven door is opened, for easy removal of hot items. Reinforced stainless steel body with a top that doubles as a warming tray.

You most certainly can use standard cookware in this oven as long as it will fit in the oven. We have one of these in the office and we bake, broil, reheat, and roast in it all of the time using a variety of cookware from stainless steel, aluminium, ceramic/stoneware and even cast iron.

Interior coating?

Is the interior of the Breville Smart Oven made with nonstick material?
A shopper on Oct 7, 2011
Best Answer: With innovative Element IQ™ technology, the Breville Smart Oven truly lives up to its name. By distributing 1,800 watts of power among five quartz elements, this innovative oven cooks foods to perfection—whether you’re toasting, roasting, baking, broiling or simply reheating. The inside bottom of the oven is stainless steel and nont nonstick. The interior back and sides are coated to make them easier to clean.

Cleanng with a soft cloth or sponge with non brasive products does not clean the inside. After the first use, and we properly followed directions on cleaning it did not work. Cleaning the crumb tray is not great either as it is aluminum not stainless steel. I want to use Foam Plus to clean the inside of the oven and the product states to use only on porcelain, enamel, iron, stainless steel, chrome, ceramic and glass. The product is phosphate free, non flammable, no chlorinated solvents, and leaves no toxic fumes or odors. You spray on & wipe off. Called Breville to find out exactly what the interior is made of but they won't tell me. So has anyone used anything other than soap & water, to clean this oven. I do like the oven but want to be able to clean it and have it look and feel clean.?
Nina Miller on Oct 16, 2014
Best Answer: If Breville won't tell you what it's made of, it sounds like it must be a proprietary material, so I would definitely stay away from any abrasive chemical. I suggest making a paste of baking soda & water for tough to clean spots.

Repairs on Breville Smart Convection Oven

Best Answer: You'll probably want to contact Breville directly at 1-866-BREVILLE (1-866-273-8455)8am to 5pm (Pacific Time) Monday through Friday. They should be able to help you return it to them for repair, or maybe even direct you to a local authorized repair facility. Good luck! For what it's worth, I have a number of Breville products and never had any problems, and gave my other half this very oven and he's had no problems with it. How much airspace needs to be between the top of the oven and the bottom of an upper cabinet?
A shopper on Nov 19, 2015
Best Answer: The oven's user guide does not mention anything about this. But it does say to leave 4 inches on both sides so that walls are not discolored. The top gets quite warm and can be used as a warming tray. I use that feature quite often. I have about 9 inches between my upper cabinet and the oven top. I think it could be less but then that compromises and amount of space available to use the top as a warming tray.

Best Answer: The Breville is great. We've used it daily for about 5 years. My only complaint about the Breville has been the lack of a light. I think we're going to get the new Breville Pro which has a light. I wanted this Wolf, but a light is a deal-breaker. I'm tired of not being able to see if things are browning. The other deal-breaker is pizza. Apparently the Wolf will not hold a 13" round pizza stone or pizza pan. The Brevile will; the back wall of the interior is made especially to accommodate their 13" pizza stone and 13" pizza re-heating tray.

All I want to know is, does this thing make decent TOAST and can it brown things like pecans and almonds?
A shopper on Jan 3, 2016
Best Answer: I haven't browned pecans or almonds. But I have no doubt it could. We bought this to toast large slices of bread (not thick but long slices). For two pieces of bread, we have to put the setting on 7 (the highest level for toasting) and it will take 6+ minutes. The toast will not be heavily browned. So I say yes, it makes decent toast but it takes times.

Best Answer: It does get hot. There is a piece on the back that keeps it about 2 inches from the back wall and you do need at least an inch on the sides and 2 inches on the top has been fine, but I don't think I would want any less space around it.

It also bakes bread in a standard bread pan and I have a round baker that probably holds 2 quarts, also without handles, that I use with it. It holds a lot and cooks everything perfectly.

How do you clean the inside of this oven. Especially grease, etc
A shopper on Apr 30, 2013
Best Answer: The walls on the inside of the oven feature a non-stick coating for easy cleaning. To clean any spattering that may occur while cooking, wipe the walls with a soft, damp sponge. A non-abrasive liquid cleanser or mild spray solution may be used to avoid build-up of stains. Apply the cleanser to the sponge, not the oven surface, before cleaning. Avoid touching the quartz heating elements

Does the temperature go low enough to dehydrate?

How low does the temperature go? If it goes as low as 150 or even lower, that is low enough to dehydrate nuts, fruit & vegetables. Plus it would take up a lot less counter space than a dehydrator
A shopper on Jan 22, 2013
Best Answer: This oven will go as low as 120 degrees.
