I love this! My Mom bought it for me because i love to grill in the summer and it makes quick easy yummy appetizers. You just need to make sure when you are buying you jalapenos that you get the big thick ones. If you get some that are too skinny they will fall through when they cook onto your grill.
I originally bouth this little gadget for my brother for his birthday. After I got it home, it took all of my might to wrap and send it to him.
I finally went back to the store, bought myself one and am NOT disappointed! Last year I had a very prolific jalapenos and found myself stuffing and grilling jalapenos wrapped in bacon all summer. This rack and corer makes the task a lot easier and the final product is very aesthetically pleasing
This really was the best $20 ever spent. the Spring we do a lot of entertaining. We bought this thinking we would use it every so often. We now use it EVERY time we have a gathering. Its fun to come up with different ingredients to stuff the peppers with. And so EASY! My 4 year old helps stuff them. Just remember to use big enough jalapenos and for those that fall over, just stick a toothpick in the bottom
A friend brought over her roaster that she bought from a different store and proceeded to make stuffed jalapenos using a small coring knife I had to help her core the jalapenos. The following weekend I went to my local Sur La Table and found this with the corer! I brought it to a friend's house and she had never seen this before, she was amazed at how easy it was to core the jalapenos, and so was I. I stuffed my peppers with cream cheese and wrapped them in prosciutto. They came out great and they were a hit. Best $20 I've spent in a long time!
The idea behind this grill is great but the design needs work. The corer worked well and reduced the prep time. What size peppers did you use with this grill in the picture, tiny? I know everything from Texas is bigger but my peppers didn't fit. Who designed this thing? It was not a cook in a busy kitchen. Design suggestions...Make the holes bigger, and add a removable catch tray with raised sides below the holes to catch dripping cheese when you use it in the oven.(I know it is supposed to be used in the grill but why not in the oven also)
watched a food tv show where they did jalapeno poppers and knew my hubby would love them. the popper rack worked well, but fortunately I had brought it with me to the grocery or I would have bought peppers that would be too big for the rack. the corer is a great concept, however, it chews thru peppers the size that will fit the rack. one of these items needs to be resized, either make the corer slimmer (my preference) so that it doesn;t cause the peppers to split or make the rack holes bigger for bigger peppers. I had to use a small paring knife to core out the peppers. That said, my peppers were a big hit. I filled them with a mixture of cream cheese, shredded cheddar and bacon bits, using a zip bag with a corner cut off to fill. the peppers were easy to fill, cooked evenly and were gobbled up by our friends at the lake. As to reccommending, buy the rack, skip the corer
Unless you plan on stuffing Serrano peppers. this is useless. Whoever chose the hole size obviously had zero knowledge of Jalapeno peppers. the number of holes should be reduced to 12 and the diameter of the holes increased. I wasted money on this one. Very poor design.

I would like to be able to use jalapenos or pablanos. Are the holes big enough to support a slightly larger pepper?
