Happy so far
Just received this item and tried a small batch of pizzelles to test it out. Packed nice and snug in box and the unit will not take up much space. It's nice to have the option to adjust how light or dark your cookies get without guessing each time and the ready indicator light lets me multi task a little easier. I've been using my mothers unit for years, but we hold our breath every year hoping it will still work. I'm just as happy with the size of cookie, crispness and flavor with the new unit, I just hope it lasts as long as my mothers decades old unit!

I have been making Pizzelles for over 40 years and have actually burned up one pizzelle iron and my current one is almost 15 years old, so decided to try this one as it has a clip to hold it down and variable darkness control. I got it and liked it so much I got one for our granddaughters!!

Are these thin crispy cookies like the Belgian ones ??
A shopper on Jan 16, 2016
Best Answer: Do you mean the Stroopwafels?? They are thin, but have a square pattern on the cookie--and then filled with a caramel filling. I suppose you could use the pizzelle iron instead. They do come in a smaller size iron, too--or try an ice cream cone iron and cut the cookie part down with a 3" or 4" cookie cutter... Stroopwafels are more of a plain sugar cookie type dough. Pizzelles are traditionally made with an anise seed batter. But I like making non-traditional flavors--like chocolate or lemon
