I purchased one burner plate. The plate distributes heat evenly and eliminates hot spots on my propane fueled cook top.

We lost ours. It let's us put certain dishes on the heat that really ought not to be on a burner by evening the temperature and preventing hot spots that would break dishes. Not a recommended use, but we do it anyway at low heat.

Can this be used on a gas stove set on top of the grate in order to slow cook chile on simmer?

cast iron heat diffuser/or Nordic

re heat diffuser, I want to use this for a glass coffee drip product (bodum Santos). Is it safe
A shopper on Jul 29, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Not only is this safe, but it's actually reccomended. Many people buy these items together to make it safer to heat their glass items
Will this work with a smooth surface cooktop?
A shopper on Aug 13, 2013
BEST ANSWER: This diffuser is not suggested for a smooth surface, as scratching could occur
In what country are the materials produced?
A shopper on Dec 31, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Label says Nordic Ware USA
If I'm using this with a gas stove, am I supposed to remove the burner grate first?
John Z on Oct 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No. Place it on top of the grate. The hear diffuser allows you to cook at lower temperatures than possible without it.
With the heat diffuser I can keep my pottery teapot on the gas burner for hours--- the tea stays hot and the teapot is fine as the heat is even---
This is a great grate as it is hesvy enough to do the job!
Should the lip on the diffuser slide down over the grate to prevent slippage. If so, do you make a diffuser in a 9 or 10 inch size?
Debbie G on Mar 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The lip does not have to fit over the "grate". We use it on an Antique Chambers gas stove and it sits on top of the cast iron "grates".
What is the diameter of the diffuser?
A shopper on Feb 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It measures 7 & 3/4". We love it and use it on a gas burner.
Below one answer says it is not recommended for smooth stove top and another states it is recommended for the class top, which is smooth. I am confused. I have this Tangine a ceramic/glass stove top, as well as a stove top grill. I need help determining what type of diffuser I should use. Please help? Thank you.
Cheryl B H on Jan 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This can be used on a glass top stove, but given that it does have the possibility to scratch the surface of the cooktop, it isn't recommended. If you choose to use, take extra precaution not to drag it across the surface.
Can this diffuser be used on a glass cook top for cast iron pans? If not what can i use between the glass top and the cast iron pan.
A shopper on Jan 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it can.
