Schott Zwiesel® Forte Light-Bodied White Wine Glasses

  • $9.95 - $59.70
By replacing the lead in traditional crystal with titanium and zirconium, Schott Zwiesel has created the strongest, clearest, most brilliant crystal glass available. Patented Tritan® Crystal retains its clarity and luster for the life of the glass and resists chipping, scratching, and breakage.

Designed with a classic, traditional shape, the Forte collection’s bowls are perfectly sized for the appropriate wine. Each glass is reinforced at the rim and both ends of the stem (where it meets the foot and the bowl) and the soft tapered bowl focuses your wine’s essence to the palate. This collection is the perfect introduction to the fine design of Schott Zwiesel Tritan Crystal.

To fully appreciate a young, crisp, white wine this glass is the perfect choice. It features an opening that’s slightly larger than the body of the glass itself, allowing the wine to dispense at the tip and sides of the tongue for a fuller realization of the wine’s sweetness. This glass is designed for crisp, sweeter, light-bodied whites such as Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling.

13.6 oz.; 8½" h x 3¼" w. Dishwasher safe. Made in Germany.

21st century
I love that these glasses go right into the dishwasher time and time again!
They are incredibly durable - far better than other name brands.... they will break if you are careless or are on the third bottle of wine, but far beyond their competition

Great Glasses
I have owned these glasses for many years (7?) and needed to replenish.(yes, I have broken a few--they are not indestructible!). We use them almost every day and put them in the dishwasher. When the new ones came and I compared them to my old, the old still looked new; very little signs of wear and no etching. They are strong, thin and a classic shape. Great glasses

Beautiful shape
We registered for the forte set, light (as opposed to full) for white and red. These glasses are gorgeous. They feel delicate in your hand, and ring beautifully when you do the water trick on the rim. They look elegant on the table and in the china cabinet. We haven't had them very long yet, and haven't broken any. A sales clerk in store showed us how you can hit the bowl of the glass on a shelf and it won't break. I did have one stem break when it was shipped, but Sur la Table was great about the exchange.

The only problem I've had is with the shape of the glass - which I love the look of. It is a bit of a tight squeeze for washing. I can get my (very small!) hand in with a sponge, but only just barely. If you are good about rinsing the glasses right away, this shouldn't be a problem. I have heard you can put these in the dishwasher, but I haven't tried it.

Even with the tight fit, I would still pick these again. LOVE them

"err, it's ok"
I generally really like the glasses, but one of mine just broke yesterday. It was upside-down drying, tipped onto it's side and broke where the stem meets the bowl (where it's ""reinforced"").. it's was a pretty gentile fall, I've had cheap glass take harder hits. This isn't meant to imply I have the best drying method or that i should be more carful overall. Just that I wish it were a bit stronger
