Nice and elegant
I like Sur La Table's slant bowls because of their simple, modern design. I choose the largest size, which is quite large but creates an elegant, oversized look appearance. Almost all food looks more appetizing on larger plates.

A note, the slant has function as well. When serving extremely hot bowls of soup the bowl can get to the point of almost burning my hand. The slant acts as a kind of 'cool touch' handle.

The large bowls are great for pasta, soups, salads, and anything served family style.

I bought these specifically for serving ramen because they are large and present the noodle well. The slanted design lends a sleek Neo-Tokyo feel that emphasizes the asymmetry found in Japanese aesthetic.

My main criticism is the price. $25 ea for the large bowl feels a little steep

Are these bowls appropriate for serving soup?

We have dining in restaurants that served soup in slant bowls - very elegant. What size would be appropriate for serving soup?
A shopper on Dec 9, 2012
Best Answer: Three sizes are available to meet all your service needs. The 7"" and the 8.5"" bowls would both work for serving soup. It would just depend on the kind of soup you were serving. A delicate broth based soup would work well in the 7"" bowls and a heartier ""Stew"" would work well in the 8.5"" bowls. The other size is 11"" and would service better as a main servin

Are these bowls stackable?
A shopper on Aug 22, 2015
Best Answer: Yes! They are a great set of bowls. They are very versatile. I use them often. I like the clean assymetrical design. Because they stack/nest nicely inside each other storing them is a huge plus for me!
