this product is really bad
the worst part of this is that it rusts and within minutes. it is difficult to use and when trying to put together, it doesn't fit correctly. I have a similar grinder that I use for wheatgrass and it works great and doesn't rust. Don't buy this item, trust me

This does exactly what it is supposed to do
I read the two other reviews for this product and got curious. How could anything be so bad? My old Porkert grinder (inherited from a grandparent) had finally worn out after many years of use and I want to buy another. Well, good luck trying to find a Porkert but this cucina pro looks like the Porkert.
It is true the unit is old fashioned but it is very clean for a meat grinder. I have used this on my work bench in my basement and on our kitchen table. The clamp works fine. The grinder is perfect when in use. The three sausage stuffers work great.
You do have to rub cooking oil on the unit after you use it as it is cast iron.
I wonder if the two other reviews really used the product.....

Just like my Dad's old grinder
This grinder is very solid. It works exactly like my fathers who I think got it from his father. I had seen these at sporting goods stores and hardware stores. I was really glad to see it at Sur la Table. I

Works fine
I also had a bit of trouble first time I used this. It is the old fashioned style, so it is a bit primative, which is fine by me! I called their customer help line and spoke with a wonderful woman name, Jill. She walked me through everything I need to do in order to grind my sausage the way I wanted.

Piece of Junk
Everything about this product is bad. It works like a meat grinder from the 1700s that has not had one ounce of improvement made to it since. The clamp is a joke, it will not fit onto "any counter or table" as the description says. The design is just really stupid. For example you cant fit a bowl under the outlet, it is too low, only a plate will fit. They could give this away and I still would not use it.

I use a meat grinder to grind meat, especially ham, to make ham salad sandwiches and add to my split pea soup. I find one like this one usually works well for me.

My boyfriend wants to start making sausage! This resembles the meat grinder my grandmother used when I would visit her in the summertime. Non-electrical is classic and will stand the test of time!

Does the cucina meat grinder have to be seasoned to prevent the metallic taste?
A shopper on Aug 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I did not. All I did was wash everything in hot soapy water and dry it well. I made a batch of sausage and never got a metallic taste.
Where is this product made (country)?
A shopper on Dec 27, 2012
BEST ANSWER: This meat grinder is made in China.
