Just Buy it for the Autograph!!!
It's Thomas Keller for God sakes!!!!!! His books are amazing, he owns how many starred restaurants and has been on the worlds 50 best resaurant list how many times? Ad Hoc, though it is autographed, is written more as a memorial to his father than as a cookbook and the introduction makes that clear. Everything the man prepares in the book he prepared for his father for whom he had cared for until his death. It is a great book not just for the recipes, or the autograph, but for the feeling you get when you read it. It is as if you can feel his joy for making these dishes for his father while also feeling the pain of knowing they are all just memories of the same man who passed away. It is a great book indeed and I have to recommend it, but not only because its autographed, but because I am the son of a chef and I know what its like to share recipes and cook with and for my father. This book definitely hits home for me
