We already had other larger and smaller racks, which were either too big or too small. This rack is the perfect size for a single batch of cookies, brownie bites, muffins, cream puffs or cupcakes. The grid is better than a rack with one direction of bars, as smaller items do not slip through. The 10"" x 18"" size is convenient, as it takes up a longer and more narrow space on our table or counter top, allowing us more working space adjacent to the rack. This ends up being the rack we utilize the most in our kitchen, so I consider it well worth the price. The chrome is easy to clean and the construction is sturdier than some other brands
I now own three of the 10x18"" cooling racks. Perfect size for use and storage. My countertops are shallow but long; plus I tend to bake multiple batches/loaves/etc at one time. The gridded construction provides added stability, preventing crumbles while things are cooling. They clean up well in the dishwasher or by hand and their small feet allow them to stack compactly
I needed a smaller size to use on my toaster oven size pan. My larger grid is wonderful as it is also nonstick but this should do for now. Sometimes I roast chicken wings so I don't have to fry them. Keeping them off grease makes them crispy and helps them cook all around in my convection oven often sparing me the need to flip them over
Are these for just cooling things down outside the oven or can you insert these into a jelly roll pan and, say, broil a steak? Will the chrome peel or is using them in a hot oven in any way unsafe
