Returned the Mill
Returned the mill because the stainless steel cup (where the crank and grinding mechanism reside) is wide open; and unless when not in use the mill was not stored inside a cabinet, but on an island or a counter, there would be dust, hair, etc.falling into the cup, and the cup would be difficult to keep clean.

To get coffee ground fresh each day, exactly the way we want it for french press, as well as the ability to experiment with grind size. The hope is that this grinder will last a lifetime.

I wanted a sturdy coffee mill that I could have for many years and would work in the event of a power failure. And, it is beautiful :)
