I spent a lot of time searching for a beverage container for a graduation party until I finally decided on this one. I love it!! It's not overly big, it's unique and the spout is made out of very heavy-duty plastic. It does not leak and the flow is fast enough. It arrived in excellent condition. I do recommend buying the stand that goes with it. I couldn't wait for the party to use it so I have it sitting on my kitchen counter to help me drink my 2 gal. of water a day! HA! So far, I haven't succeeded. ;
I recently discovered Sur La Table through my friends bridal registry, and cannot stop purchasing their products. I have the red ceramic pitcher, the hour glass pitcher, and the this behive pitcher. I lover all three of them. The glass on the behive pitcher is thicker than the glass on the hour glass one. I think it's because they are hand blown, but I could be incorrect. They are the perfect touch to any outing. I used all three for my sons 3rd birthday party, and everyone commented on how nice they looked (even purchased the stands too), and used the name plates too from their website. The first time I used them they leaked a bit, but you just need to make sure to tighten the spout, and it fixes the problem. Now the beehive pitcher sits out on my countertop to decorate, and use when I have company over, since it's only 2 gallons capacity
It hold about two gallons. I think it's a good size if you are going to use for a summer picnic with friends, or use for a party and offer other options for drinks. This way you don't make too much and have a lot left over
Is the spigot metal or plastic and is the flow slow or fast?

Best Answer:Perfect for lemonade, sangria and more—with its fun beehive shape, our generously sized jar is a great way to serve thirst-quenching favorites at your next party.
Great for summer entertaining indoors or out. Hand wash. 13½" tall. The spigot is made from a very strong and sturdy plastic. The flow speed is adjustable depending upon how far you open it. You can turn the spigot only 1/4 or 1/2 way open and get a slower flow or turn it wide open for a quicker flow. Goes perfectly with our black-metal bee stand.
Why is the spigot made in plastic, and does Sur La Table sell any drink containers that have metal spigots??

Best Answer:All of our Beverage Jars have plastic spigots. The reason for this is that there is usually quite a bit of moisture coming thru and setting in those spigots for long periods of time and the plastic spigots do not rust or corrode and contaminate the beverage. All of our products are also covered under our 100% satisfaction gaurantee and we will replace or refund the item if you are not 100% satisfied.
