Why do 3 star chefs use Staub?
There's a reason chefs like Alan Ducasse, Joel Robuchon, Paul Bocuse, etc. use Staub. Looks great and cooks wonderfully. The matte black enamel interior browns beautifully, and the lid helps keep the dish moist while cooking.

To use the cocotte to best advantage, be sure to preheat it, I typically preheat about 8min.

Much of the flavor of the dish comes from the browning and Staub excels at this

Staub or Le Creuset?
Staub has been around roughly the same amount of time as Le Creuset with factories just an hour away from each other in France. They are all hand finished (in gorgeous deep colors). The black interior is perfect for browning and braising and the self-basting knobs (which you don't get with Le Creuset) on the lid keep food moist. Love, love, love!!

My go to for just about everything.
My Staub lives on the stove ready to go. In the short time I have had my 5.5 qt round I have roasted the best whole chicken ever. The pot roast was perfect, tender and juicy. Last night I made pork chops which I started on the stove and moved to the oven. It was so easy and I really think the pot is the main reason for my recent success in the kitchen, seeing that I am the boy who can destroy just about anything. I can honestly say that if I had to choose one thing in the kitchen that I couldn't live without it would be this. Spoil yourself to this must have oven. I promise you won't regret it for a second.

On a side note. The Sur La Table Customer Service couldn't be better! The color I wanted was discontinued so I called the 1-800 number and within 24 hours they located the item I wanted. They had it shipped clear across the country from NYC to WA State. Their superior customer service has made me a LOYAL customer. If I could I would give them 10 Stars!! Thank you again and I cant wait to shop your stores again
