Why do 3 star chefs use Staub?
There's a reason chefs like Alan Ducasse, Joel Robuchon, Paul Bocuse, etc. use Staub. Looks great and cooks wonderfully. The matte black enamel interior browns beautifully, and the lid helps keep the dish moist while cooking.

To use the cocotte to best advantage, be sure to preheat it, I typically preheat about 8min.

Much of the flavor of the dish comes from the browning and Staub excels at this

OBSESSED
I am obsessed with this! You can cook anything in it and it browns so nicely. I cooked mussels in this the other day.

Must buy.

Wife likes other staub products and needed large round dutch oven

If there is one piece of cookware that I prefer to cook with more than any other, I'd have to say it is Staub's Round Cocottes. The interior enamel does an excellent job of browning meat. Not only that, but I don't have trouble with food burning and sticking to the bottom of the pot like I've had with other Dutch oven brands. The design of the lid helps keep the food extra moist and juicy. And the thickness of the cast iron makes for a nice even distribution and retainment of heat.

Replacing a too large soup pot and getting the versatility of a dutch oven too. Bought one as a present for my son-in-law last year and he raves about it.

Pssst, these are holiday gifts for that special someone.
Sheryl C on Aug 20, 2016
Read a lot of online reviews and thought this would be terrific for braising and keeping items moist due to the braising spikes on the underside of the lid. Appears to be an exceptionally high quality item that will last a lifetime. Hope the gift recipient likes it as much as I do!

My husband and I have owned a Staub pot for several years now and have grown to love it! We purchased this one for our nephew and his new wife as a wedding gift with the hope they will enjoy theirs as much as we enjoy ours.

QUALITY! I have a Staub pot and many from the competitor, Staub is choice! Although, both are quality products, Staub leads for interior design including built in basting, deep inset lip (interior) and gorgeous colors! Love the french looking knobs! My current Staub pot sits center stage on my stove top daily! My future cooking/baking selection will be Staub!

What are the dimensions of the 2_ qt round cocotte?
A shopper on Feb 27, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Durable cast iron cocotte retains and distributes heat evenly and effectively; plus it’s ready to use—no seasoning required. Lid features self-basting spikes for continuous, even distribution of juices throughout cooking, so food is moist and flavorful. Ceramic bottom is suitable for use on any cooking surface, including induction. Enamel finish resists scratches and chips, and won’t discolor or rust. Hand wash. The dimensions for this item are as follows

8" in diameter
10 1/4" from handle to handle
This Cocotte is 3 1/2" tall by itself and 4 1/2" with the lid.
Does the stated height include the height of the knob? I need to know if the 4-qt size will fit in my toaster oven (the Breville Smart Oven Pro).
A shopper on Dec 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Good afternoon,

My Staub Round Cocotte 4qt measures at 160mm or 6.25 inches in height from the base to the top of the polished knob.

Hope this helps and best regards,

Jacob
Is this Staub cocotte "marin blue," "sapphire blue," "dark blue"? I'd like to match an existing marin blue item, but I'm afraid that color might be discontinued.
A shopper on May 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It's Marin.
